What You Can Expect

• Day 1 Beijing

    You’ll be picked up at your hotel or other agreed location and begin your tour of Beijing with a visit to the site that witnessed the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Tiananmen Square is of one the world’s most impressive public plazas and is located at the center of Beijing.

  • Forbidden City

    Visit the Forbidden City, and explore the halls of the largest ancient palatial structure in the world, the best-preserved imperial palace in China, and a site of great historical importance.

  • Lunch

  • Temple of Heaven

    In the afternoon, your guide will take you to see the Temple of Heaven. The site is a masterpiece of imperial style and architecture.

  • Badaling Great Wall

    You’ll take a drive to the Badaling section of the Great Wall. Enjoy this testament to Chinese engineering and ingenuity, a monument to human endeavor set against a backdrop of stunning scenery. Your visit includes a cable car ride.

  • Changling Tomb

    Tour the Changling Tomb, the resting place of the third Ming emperor and a magnificent example of Ming Dynasty architecture.

  • Water Cube and Bird Nest

    Later you’ll stop to see the exteriors of the Water Cube and the Bird’s Nest sites from the 2008 Summer Olympics.

    After breakfast you’ll be transferred to the Beijing railway station, where you’ll board the high-speed train to Shanghai.

  • Nanjing Road and the Bund

    After arriving at the Shanghai railway station, you can arrange your own lunch before starting to explore the city. Next you can take a stroll along Nanjing Lu, a well-known shopping boulevard that’s bustling with energy and bright lights. While you’re in the area you can also check out The Bund.

  • Dinner

    Conclude the day with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.

• Day 5 Shanghai

    Start off with breakfast at the hotel.

  • Yu Garden

    Located in the old city center, Yu Garden is a wonder of classical design constructed 400 years ago during the Ming period. The massive city of Shanghai has sprung around this older relative but has left it to grow old peacefully, providing a fascinating window into the past.

  • Shanghai Museum

    Next you’ll take a walk through the rest of the Old City and then check out some ancient Chinese art in the Shanghai Museum.

  • French Concession
