What You Can Expect

• Day 1 Guilin

  Arrive in Guilin and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to rest or explore on your own.

• Day 2 River Li

  Enjoy a boat trip on the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo. The 4-hour journey is an unforgettable experience, as you drift between spectacular limestone peaks and see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river.

• Day 3 Longsheng

  • Dragon Backbone Rice Terraces

    Depart Guilin for Longsheng. Take the country road to Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces to experience the distinct colors that change over the seasons. Known as Longji Rice Terraces in Chinese, they were first established in the 13th-Century and completed at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty of 1644-1911. As the seasons change, the terraces take on a shifting colorful aspect, from the silver of spring to a golden color in the fall. In the summer they are lush and green, while in the winter they resemble dragons playing in water.

  • Zhuang and Yao Minority Villages

    Zhuang and Yao minority villages dot the area and live in traditional architecture, where no nails are used in construction. The different minority customs and dressing styles are especially interesting. Sedan chairs are available from the parking lot to the top of the mountain for customers who would like to see the views, but feel unable to climb all the way to the top. The round trip costs approximately CNY 350 per person.

• Day 4 Guilin

  • Reed Flute Cave

    Reed Flute Cave is located about 3 miles (5 kilometers) northwest of Guilin city, and gets its name from the reeds used for making flutes and pipes that grow at its entrance. The cave is regarded as the largest and most impressive cave in Guilin. See a magical landscape of stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains, birds, plants, and animals in fantastic shapes and colors.

  • Elephant Trunk Hill

    Elephant Trunk Hill is located at the junction of Li River and Peach Blossom River. It is the symbol of Guilin and got its name because it resembles the shape of an elephant with its trunk drinking from the Li River. The hill is pierced with many caves and topped with a small pagoda.

  • Fubo Hill

    Continue to Fubo Hill on the west bank of the Li River in the city center. Partially submerged in the river, it was named after General Fubo of the Tang Dynasty who built a Mayuan Temple on the hill. Because of its location and height, Fubo Hill can tame the waves and stop the surging waters, which form into whirlpools. Located 700 feet (213 meters) above sea level, there are almost 350 steps to climb to reach the top of hill. But once at the top, you will be rewarded with a fantastic bird’s eye view of Guilin.

  • Lunch

    Lunch during the day will be at the Taste Made Restaurant, creating a new concept of cuisine in Guilin. From its riverside location, it demonstrates a modern style of cooking, preparing meals that are as pleasing to the eye as to the palate. The restaurant can customize meals to suit customers personal tastes, fusing Chinese and Western cookery.

  • Departure

    At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to Guilin Airport for your onward journey.
