  Ming Tombs

  After a hotel pick-up, your first stop is the sacred Ming Tombs. Built in 1409 at the foothills of the Yanshan Mountains, it contains the tombs of 13 Ming emperors. You will explore the largest and best preserved of the burial sites after walking the sacred way, lined with statues of animals and officials. Changling Tomb is the burial site of the Emperor Zhu Di, also known as Yongle, the 3rd Ming Emperor. He moved the Chinese capital from Nanjing to Beijing and his remarkable tomb is housed in an exquisite hall made from rare and decay-resistant Phoebe nanmu wood.

  Jade Factory

  After your visit to Yongle’s tomb, you will have lunch at the Longdi Jade Factory, a Government sponsored facility that manufacturers and sells jade souvenirs at bargain prices. Witness the ancient art of jade carving, before moving on to the Great Wall of China.

  Badaling Great Wal

  The very symbol of ancient Chinese engineering, the Great Wall is the longest manmade structure in the world and an essential attraction on any visit to Beijing. You will go to the popular Badaling section, a prime example of the colossal structure at its most preserved. You will have the opportunity to climb either the North or South face of the wall to enjoy extraordinary views and photo opportunities.

  Tea Ceremony

  On the way back to Beijing, you will pause at Dr. Tea to learn about the rich flavors and health benefits of the many types of Chinese tea and take part in a tea tasting ceremony.

  Bird Nest and Water Cube

  You will also stop at 2 iconic structures from the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube buildings.

  Wir wurden pünktlich vom Hotel abgeholt und wieder dort hin gebracht. Der Tour Guide war sehr gut. Unterhaltsam und konnte auch gut Englisch. Badaling ist nicht soo schön. Es gibt bessere Orte (auch nicht so weit weg davon), wo man noch mehr von der Mauer sehen kann. Das Restaurant wo wir essen waren war auch sehr lecker. Obligatorische Tour in die Jade Fabrik (kann man mit leben).

  Bill als Tourguide war super. Er wusste vieles zu erzählen, auch Hintergründe über Geschichte und Gebäude oder Stadtteile. Wir hatten genügend Zeit bei der Mauer, also kein Stress da hochzuklettern. Beeindruckend das Ganze. Leider hat diese Reise auch einen kommerziellen Touch, heisst, die Jademanufaktur und vor allem die Teezeremonie sind kalr auf Verkaufen ausgelegt. Ich wusste es durch die Bewertungen im vornherein und mir machte dies nix aus. Somit fand ich diese Tour gut, es gibt aber sicher Leute, die sich ab soviel Kommerz stören

  Die Abholung erfolgte trotz des relativ abgelegenen Hotels vom Hotel, was für uns viel entspannter war. Der Guide konnte sehr gut englisch sprechen und hat viele interessante Informationen über die Sehenswürdigkeiten usw. gegeben. Auch über die Tagestour inaus hat er gute Empfehlungen gegeben und seine Hilfe angeboten bei Übersetzungen. Ebenfalls war der Besuch des Teehauses ein sehr gelungener Abschluss der Tour =).
