Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City
In the morning you will take in Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City to tour the grounds and take pictures of the array of halls and monuments. Known as the “Gate of Heavenly Peace,” Tiananmen Square forms one of the gateways to the Forbidden City and is the largest urban square in the world. Gasp in awe at its formidable size, soak up the history and see major buildings such as the Great Hall of the People and Mao Zedong Memorial. Moving to the vast Forbidden City, now open to the public, you will wander around a dramatic complex of Qing and Ming dynasty palaces and see the world’s largest collection of wooden structures.

Lunch
Lunch will be in the famous Longdi Jade Factory. Besides enjoying the delicious food, you will get a chance to appreciate the very special Chinese stone, which was used for the 2008 Beijing Olympic medals.

Badaling Great Wall
In the afternoon, you will travel to the Badaling section of the Great Wall of China, one of the best-preserved sections of this 2,000-year-old architectural masterpiece. You will climb the wall to take in panoramic views from the top before returning to the city for a drop-off at your hotel.

Sympathischer Guide - aber zuviel Verkaufsveranstaltung :-(

Frankfurt, Germany | Nov 20, 2025Die Chinesische Mauer ist ein absolutes Muss! Der Tourbus, in dem wir hingefahren sind, war chinesisch aber gut. Unser Tourguide war gutgelaunt und sympathisch. Leider hatten wir in der Verbotenen Stadt wenig Zeit und wurde förmlich durchgehetzt. Dafür mussten wir eine Seidenmanufaktur und eine Jademanufaktur mit Verkaufsräumen besuchen - dort haben wir leider insgesamt sehr viel Zeit verbracht! Der zeitliche Anteil dieser beiden Verkaufsveranstaltungen war viel zu hoch. Das Mittagessen fand in der Jademanufaktur statt - es schmeckt fade und das Lokal wirkte ungepflegt, nicht schön. Man wurde abgefertigt, zusammen mit anderen Reisegruppen die im Minutentakt angekarrt werden.
