• Decent hotel, excellent value

  First and foremost this is probably the cleanest hotel in the area. I've stay at several hotels within a 10km radius and this was the cleanest of the bunch despite other hotels having a higher "star" rating.
  The breakfast buffet was also good, lots of selection both Chinese and Western.
  The service at the front desk were both friendly and efficient.
  The only negative I found was the towels were not in the best of shape. They were clean but was well worn. Both bath towels in my room had large tears in them.
  Will definitely stay here the next time I'm in town for business.

  One night only but the group of 30 enjoyed a good night sleep despite arriving 12 midnight. User friendly of amenities & no hassle to delay our sleep to wake up at 6am. Clean & comfortable bed. Breakfast was in a rush at 645am. The hotel should considered starting at 630am if there is a group staying in. Without a good breakfast the tour will be in a bad situation due to long walks & rushing.

  Basic Hotel(maybe this is because a night stay in Crown Plaza which serve me very well).Hotel is no where near to anything,it's almost like a dead town with no convenient shop or any restaurant nearby.Virtually you need a taxi to travel anywhere(even just to get a quick meal).

  I must say this is an excellent propoerty in terms of décor and amenities. But there are 2 things I feel obliged to warn people of, which clearly can't be found anywhere on the internet unless you've been there - 1) this location is VERY far from Zhengzhou city. If you want to be sightseeing around the city or need to be IN Zhengzhou city, this would be a HUGE inconvenience as the only means of transport getting to/from Zhengzhou downtown is taxi, and taxis are definitely not cheap there. It shows 30-something kms on the map, but in reality it really takes a while factoring in the roads and traffic. Also a lot of taxi-drivers might not know where exactly this is as it is outside of the city. It takes close to 1.5 hr to go directly to the airport by taxi... so you could imagine. I feel a bit disappointed that they've "advertised" themselves as being "conveniently located". This is too far from the truth.
  2) I would imagine being part of the Starwood group, their staff would be able to converse in English, but surprisingly this is not the case. So if you can't speak Mandarin, I wouldn't suggest you to stay there.
  All in all I do like the hotel... if location/language is not a concern to you.

• No butts about it...you can still smoke here

  The entrance to the foyer is jazzy and seems very laid back. There is a sign saying 'no butts about it, this is a non-smoking hotel'.
  From then on its all downhill. The actual room itself is looking very dated despite the hotel being only a couple of years old and there are signs of poor worksmanship throughout. The shower needs to be regrouted, the blinds are misaligned, and the carpet was worn our and needed to be relaid.
  Oh, and forget about the sign saying you can't smoke. There are ashtrays all over the place suggesting otherwise. One rating down for that.
  The hotel is near the new metro so this improves the connect ability of this hotel to the main train station.
