  This is the best international hotel in Zhanjiang as of now, maybe until the Sheraton (which has been construction for years) will open. The rooms, the amenities and the massive lobby are impressive. They kind of messed up my reservation, which should have been the one with breakfast (they checked it again and called me that it has been fixed after an hour), and the English-speaking abilities of the staff can use some improvement. This is however, Zhanjiang, a third-tier city and the rates are pretty good, so it still exceeds expectations.

  The Crowne Plaza Hotel Zhanjiang, would be one of the best places to stay in Zhanjiang.
  It's a bit away from the main parts of the city, but close enough to everything. Bus & taxis at the door, or easy walking to most locations (flat walking).
  The Hotel itself was very clean, well appointed rooms. Shower & bath tub in good size bathroom.
  Desk with free wifi day bed (lounge) & very comfortable bed.
  Amenities in the lobby include reception, business center, shops, lobby bar overlooking a large in ground fish tank. There are two restaurants The first is buffet style open B,L,D. Great selection of eastern & western foods. Prices were very reasonable 110 RMB (About $20) for dinner. The second is a more upmarket Chinese Restaurant Prices were still Ok but on the higher side.
  If you need to relax the Hotel has a spa down stairs, a great one hour massage 178RMB.
  All the staff were very helpful. If you needed to go somewhere they will help by writing it in Chinese on a card for you. The bar staff were also on the ball, not in you face but there when you required them.
  All in all the staff were very friendly & helpful I would stay at this Hotel again. Would even look at staying at other hotels in the chain.

  The hotel is slightly far from the center of town, but easily accessible by taxi. The fare one way is about 15RMB.
  The hotel is luxurious and rooms are quite well maintained. Best part of stay was the courtesy extended by the staff. Excellent!!. I needed to see a doctor, the front desk provided me a escort to nearest hospital for assistance. Being Indian and vegetarian, the restaurant made vegetable food.

  This hotel is your best bet in Zhanjiang as it is probably the best in town. I have stayed in this hotel for more than 6 months on business trips. Some lasting one day, some lasting six days. The staff is polite, efficient and courteous. Rooms are spacious although a little tired. The huge lobby and koi pond are nice features.
  Breakfast at the hotel cafe offers a good mix of local food. The staff at the cafe could have managed the big crowd each morning better. The staff could have shown guests to their table and ensure that no other guest comes by and occupy your table or take away your chairs even though you have food and drinks on the table.
  Overall, it is a very nice hotel for a quiet town.

  The most disturbing thing about this hotel is the overpowering stench of mold wherever you go. In the lobby in the room or wherever. Check in was a disaster the lady had a very basic English vocabulary and had no idea about the way a ihg platinum member should be treated The lobby is like any 3-4 star Chinese hotel. The bed was very HARD. the shower was just ok the furniture worn and old.
