• Comfortable and new, with a few glitches

  While I was there, the hotel had a big party to celebrate their fifth star. 40 minutes of marvellous fireworks. If I had been the hotel manager, I would invest in a better air conditioning system - immediately. The rooms are too hot even with 10°C outside. Besides that, they are well furnished and spacious. The buffet is not huge, but quality is good and food is tasty. A good hotel, but not 5 stars for sure!

  After staying several places in Yantai, the Sheraton is my favorite. The only drawback is its popularity. I recommend booking in advance. You can get a good deal from Ctrip.
  The gym was perfect for my needs and the pool was big and clean.
  I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The food was good and the service was excellent.
  The hotel is on the beach, which is clean and relaxing. Overall I was impressed.
  I just wish I could have spent my whole time there rather than switching after a few days.
  Book early!

• Good place to stay on business

  The hotel offers a modern design and spacious, luxurious rooms. The staff speaks good English. All amenities are provided. The room was very clean, with exception of the Windows glass and the office table, which had hand prints on them. The buffet restaurant was a bit disappointing, as the offered food is of average quality and with limited selection for a rather steep price even compared to European level. Also, the floor was a bit sticky. Still, I consider this hotel the place to be for a business trip to Yantai.

• Every time I stay the room temperature is wrong....

  In the winter my room has been far too cold, in the summer, like just this week, far too hot. The in-room thermostats seem to be for show only, with no sustained effect on the room. Once again, I had maintenance come to the room - when I should have been sleeping - to try and fix it. Alas, another night sleepless and roasting hot.
  Aside from that major inconvenience, the room is clean, the breakfast good, and the staff friendly. By China standards, the beach is good too.

  A good place to stay while in Yantai, we had a nice walk on the beach and we loved the food (one of the best buffet foods I've ever experienced). The staff was friendly and didn't mind our little kids who were running in and out of the buffet area to go to the playground (situated near the restaurant). The pool is nice, but the water was a bit too cold.
  The facilities, showers and toilets at the pool are very clean, and so are the rooms. A good experience with kids. The only downside is that you need to take a taxi to go visit the spots in Yantai, like the aquarium, famous restaurants etc.
