Fine for a short stay
TomaC07
Huai'an, China | Sep 1, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThis hotel has a great location: most of the main attractions ( Slender West Lake, Ge Garden, He Garden) are within walking distance. There is plenty of good and cheap eating options in the area (Dongguan street) and several coffee shops on the way to the Slender West Lake.
The room is pretty cheap for an Holiday Inn and for a room of this size.
On the wrong side: the room could have been cleaned better. There was burn marks and hairs on the floor and dusty towels.
There is free breakfast, but I would advice to cross the river and go to a small and crowded restaurant on the other for a good chinese breakfast.
Overall I would say it was a fine stay for one night. -
Above Average HIX

Shanghai, China | Dec 11, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe are generally not huge fans on the HIX brand in China. It is quite similar to local budget chains but they charge a premium because they are an international brand. However, this one is better than avaerage.
The hotel is very new and is located right in the centre town. It is within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants, also the south entrance to the Slender West Lake.
The rooms are typical HIX but larger than avaerage, and there are also four or five international TV channels.
The buffet breakfast that included in everyboy's rate is not great, but much better than usual for HIX.
Although our interactions with staff were minimal, they had fairly good English and were friendly. -
Good Location

Las Vegas, Nevada | Jun 29, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyNew hotel, excellent location. It is convinence to the places where we have planed to go. We stayed for one night. Check in was pretty smooth. We waited about 5 minutes to check in. The room was nice. Very big.

Absolute Disaster!

Toronto | Jul 13, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWould not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Upon checking in, there was difficulty in asking basic questions to front office staff due to their lack of English. I am well aware that everyone should expect a language barrier when visiting China however the staff do not care and will not go out of their way to understand or help you.
Rooms are extremely dusty and dirty. The pillows are stained and smelly. I found a tiny bug on my bed. Carpets are stained and there is no ventilation in the room.
Overall, the entire day spent at this hotel was frustrating to say the least, I checked out immediately despite paying full amount.
If visiting for the first time or coming from another country, you will have great difficulty in staying at this hotel. I would suggest staying away from this place! -
Horrible to say the least

Singapore, Singapore | Jun 2, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayAs a new hotel, the experience was below expectations, with the breakfast extremely disappointing. Firstly, the variety of food is underwhelming for breakfast. Wanted some hot chocolate, but apparently the machine only supplied coffee. Basically ate plain porridge everyday for breakfast. Basically, for breakfast, there is porridge, plain bread, chinese buns, and yangzhou cuisine. The chinese buns however, have not been steamed, so i would advice against eating it as it would risk an upset stomach. There are meeting rooms on the third floor and breakfast on the second floor, so it would be best to pick a room on an upper floor if you would still like to visit this hotel.
Rooms are relatively large compared to other Chinese hotels of this price range. There is a kettle in the room and complimentary Tea-Bags, just like every hotel, however the lack of a fridge/mini-bar is deeply disappointing. The bathroom door can't be locked, and the bathroom glass which can be seen by others in the room can be said as 'translucent.' By that, i mean that what the person is doing in the bathroom, is not of the slightest discreet. Eg: You can see what colour shirt the person is wearing. Housekeeping is also terrible. The housekeeper cleaned my room well for the first 4 days, but for the 5th and second last day for me at the hotel, i found biscuit crumbs which i had swept on the floor, neatly placed back on my bed. Needless to say, i was what you can say, extremely unimpressed at that point in time.
This hotel is not worth a stay
