Excellent Service and luxury in Xi'an with a view to Xingqing Palace Park
Joely S
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia | Jul 13, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThe hotel staff at this Citadines were just wonderful, very service driven. They helped us catch local buses to many different sites ( they felt strongly that we should try the bus than take expensive taxis!) and one staff member Eva showed us a great eating place that the team particularly liked in the area- it was fantastic and we can see why they like the food. The hotel itself is near the University so there were a number of international students attending the summer school. Its located very close to Xingqing Palace Park with loads of walking tracks, loads of activities for kids and a bug lake you can take a small boat ride on. We walked a number of times from the hotel to inside the city wall of Xi'an which was fun. This is a luxury hotel with great facilities and they include a healthly buffet breakfast (Western and Chinese foods available).

Clean and comfortable

Jul 6, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayStayed here for two nights with a friend. We had a king bed, a few chairs, a kitchenette, large closet, and decent sized bathroom - overall, it was a good sized room. It was also very clean and well maintained. The staff did not speak English very well so they were not super helpful - we had to write out what we needed and sometimes it turned into a game of charades! We did laundry there, which is fairly inexpensive (but you have to buy tokens at the front desk to use the washer and dryer). The location was fine, but we didn't explore the area much since we took taxis to the train station to get the bus to the terra cotta warriors, which was pretty easy just like the reviews here said. I would stay here again, but would need to learn a bit of Chinese before I do!

Sydney, Australia | Jun 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI have stayed in this hotel for about 20 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is near bus station and you can go anywhere! The University is just at the door. The room where clean and nice. The service was good as well.

Pleasant, Comfortable, and Convenient

Lincoln, Nebraska | Jun 20, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI was in Xi'an to lecture at XJTU. They had arranged for me to stay at the University Hotel, but the smoke was intolerable, so I did a little internet research and found Citadines nearby. It was an easy walk to the university and was near many restaurants, as well as a very nice supermarket immediately next door. The hotel was not luxury, but it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Breakfast was only fair, but probably much better if you like Chinese breakfasts -- I've never quite adjusted to the Chinese fare at breakfast. Nevertheless, the rooms have kitchens with refrigerators, so it was easy to stock up with whatever was needed from the supermarket next door. Rooms were quite spacious and the beds were comfortable. Again, the rooms were very neat and clean with more than ample closet space. It was inexpensive to stay here -- overall, a very good value. If you are looking for luxury, you'll have to look elsewhere, but, if you are looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay, you couldn't do much better than Citadines. I highly recommend it for your stay in Xi'an.

A very basic hotel in a good location
Kgethi
Johannesburg, South Africa | May 22, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessMy colleagues and I stayed at this hotel after two weeks of travelling and a punishing business schedule in Italy, India and Xi'an was our last stop. We had requested our host to find a hotel for us that is close to Xian Jiao Tong University where we would be working for a few days. This hotel was certainly not the right choice for people like us who had big bags, were a bit too tired and needed a bit of comfort. The hotel is very basic and would be nice for a family on a modest budget. The breakfast is also very basic and the service not very good. One evening I came back to my room to find no toilet roll and when I called the reception to ask for it they said they are bringing it and never arrived in two hours. I had to go down to the reception to ask them myself and insist that I needed toilet roll immediately. They of course seemed very surprised that I was expecting quality service. The next time I visit Xian Jiao Tong university I will certainly not stay here.
The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are plenty good restaurants next to it. So if you want to stay here don't worry about the fact that there is no restaurant. The location of the hotel is actually very good.
