Hot and noisy
Ken N
Gloucestershire, United Kingdom | Oct 27, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelThe staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good city centre location, with plenty of shops and the metro close by. There are negative points to consider, however. The first is that is that the air conditioning did not work. The second is made worse by the first, since it was necessary to keep the window open, in that there is some chiming and a woman's voice blaring out from somewhere nearby. This starts at six in the morning and continues hourly. It is truly deafening and I defy anyone to sleep through it (although this is clearly not the hotel's fault). Otherwise the hotel was comfortable. The rooms were reasonably (but not perfectly) clean. The wi-fi was a bit hit-and-miss, but I had that trouble in all of my hotels in China. It is a hotel to which I would consider returning.

Better than some others

Charlotte, North Carolina | Oct 27, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed here while on an OAT tour and it was refreshingly better than our two previous hotels (Shanghai and Beijing). The rooms were laid out very nicely; the lighting in the bathrooms was dim as others have mentioned. The breakfast buffet was good and there was a chef cooking eggs any way you wanted. The amusing part was the size of the coffee cups - equivalent to a shot glass ! We ended up drinking our coffee out of the soup bowls. The location was good - definitely try to tour the Muslim Quarter at night !!

nice location, but mediocre amenities

Jyvaskyla, Finland | Oct 12, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessTwo blocks away from the Bell Tower from which it takes its English name, the Ramada is in a prime position on North Street, five minutes from the metro station. Taxi drivers seem to know it as the Zhaorui, and gurn cluelessly when asked to be taken to the Huameida (Ramada). As is common with modern Chinese hotels, the immediate vicinity is a post-modern wasteland of mobile phone concessions, but immediately behind it are backstreets overflowing with wonderful restaurants and convenience stores. Best of all, the north end of the famous Muslim Quarter is a mere block away.
I was staying in the Ramada for seven days between meetings, giving me ample time to make use of the large desk in my room (which in English hotels would probably be termed a suite), as well as the fully-functioning and reliable wifi.
A minor note of caution for foreign travellers: although the hotel has a sign that proudly claims it is “licenced to serve foreigners”, its expectations of what those foreigners might require seems limited. The desk staff and porters I encountered universally spoke serviceable English, although the chamber maids did not. There was no Chinese food on the English-language restaurant menu, so anyone wanting Chinese food in China had to be able to read Chinese to get it. I was also annoyed to discover that the “business centre” was nothing but a desk in the lobby, and when I asked where I could print out my plane ticket, I was told that the printer was “broken”, would not be fixed for the duration of my stay, and that my best bet was to go out into the alley behind the hotel and look for a print shop. That’s all very well – and I found one in three minutes that ran off my ticket on the spot for 2 kuai – but I surely could have had the same level of non-service from a business hotel. -
Clean and great location

Oklahoma CIty | Oct 1, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed here for one night in Xi'an and had a very nice experience. The hotel staff spoke English and were very friendly. Our room was clean and modern. Only downside is the lighting was very dim. Where they going for mood lighting? It made it a bit difficult to put on makeup but oh well. Nice hot shower. We had a few beers at the bar. The bartender was very nice. I can't speak to the availability or quality of cocktails.
This place is just north of the bell tower and near a subway stop. Area is very walkable. I would definitely stay here again if in Xi'an. -
Terrible Staff, Nice Location

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | Sep 24, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThe hotel room is comfort with bathroom & kettle for hot drink. The air-cond is not cooling might due to centralize (Winter season). The breakfast have plenty variety for your choice - Western, Chinese, Vege , Bread & Cake corner, Appetizer, Yogurt corner. Everyday without fail -5am onward , your heard the bell ring every hour...because hotel near the Bell Tower. Overall the hotel is nice & not bad except i need to highlight to the hotel management about their receptionist service - Judith Zhou & Jimmy Wang... is about 1030pm... 2 person on duty, Judith is serving 1 Chinese which q in front of me, the Jimmy is talking to the friend / staff without offering help to me. I keep on wait more than 10min.. finally Judith is done with the Chinese but she go away without attending me. Then Jimmy force to attend me unwillingly... i shown my face & ask him to arrange my room morning call (not even 1min) then i go off. Before i choose the hotel-- already check the tripadvisor..others also comment terrible staff.. but i thought it will be improve...Hope to be visited next round.
