• Quiet place in a busy city

  Our 21st stop on our trip around the world was at the Tang Dynasty Art Garden Hotel. A beautiful hotel next to the Wild Goose Pagoda and a beautiful park where even late in the evening you feel safe walking around. The hotel is really amazing, Chinese architecture and with beautiful small gardens, sculptures and ponds. The family room we had was very spacious and nicely decorated. The shower, very important to us, was very good. Good water pressure and water temperature is easy to control. Although we met very very few Chinese people who speak English, the hotel has some staff who speak sufficient English. The hotel staff are all very helpful and friendly. They arranged for a pick up from the airport when we made a very last minute request, and they helped us find a laundry place. The laundry at the hotel was very expensive, about USD 7 for one t-shirt, and since we are traveling for many months, we had a bunch of clothes to be cleaned. The hotel arranged for one of their staff to join us to a laundry place and negotiate a price. The hotel is located away from the noisy part of the city. A taxi ride to the city wall (a must see !!!) is about USD 3. This hotel is highly recommended by us. As an additional note, make sure you know which ATM's accept your bank card or credit card. We found out that only the Bank of China accepted our cards. And ... if you do not look Chinese be prepared to be subject of interest of many (very friendly) local people who like to take a picture with you, as you are genuinly an alien to them.

• Authentic Chinese hotel in a superb location

  One of the nicest hotels I've been to since arriving in Asia last month. The hotel perfectly reflects Chinese decor and architecture both inside and outside in the courtyards. We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed ourselves very much! The only flaws I can think of are that our shower door was kind if loose and that some of the staff spoke very little English...but other than that it was beyond our expectations. The hotel is located right next to the Wild Goose Pagoda and a short drive from the Xi'an city wall. While we were there, there were lots of little stalls lined up outside on the street next to the hotel selling trinkets and souvenirs (probably for the lunar festival that was going on). We really enjoyed our stay (and found it very amusing to have to many people photograph us because we looked different). :)
  
  

• Wonderful base for Xi'an exploration

  We spent 4 nights in Xi'an and loved coming back to this hotel at the end of a busy day of sight seeing. The location is fabulous as it is beside the big goose pagoda which can be seen, lit up at night, whilst dining in the hotels courtyard. Not a skyscraper in sight but beautiful park land to amble through on the 20 minute walk to the metro stop which takes you to the old city. The design of the hotel is traditional Chinese style and our room was large and comfortable. We booked a family suite which has 2 queen size beds, a mini bar, toiletries and safe. Bottled water and a fruit bowl were supplied daily. Breakfast was included and was deliciously generous and the cappuccinos were excellent! In fact, the food was so good we ate at the hotel every night rather than venturing out to try different restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful although most of them had no, or very little, English. We loved everything about this hotel and will definitely stay here again if we return to Xi'an.

  I was invited here for a meeting, very impressive old China world, style hotel, with great food, staff and such beautiful Tang gardens , location is really great beside Goose Tower and great fun at night too.

  The best hotel we have ever seen in China
  PRO: the location is great, quite in the centre of Xian, it's near a lot of stores and restaurants. It's not the "standard" hotel, is more a big garden surrounded by rooms, just check the photos, you'll understand. Room is big enough, the bathrooms a little too small. Staff is friendly, breakfast is 99% chinese, be happy if the guve you coffee and cookies.
  CON: few cons, just the bathrooms too small, a little noisy in the morning, but it depends on your neighbors.
  Be careful when you take a taxi: we did have very bad experience, especially in Xian: contract the price or ask the cost in advance.
