  Very comfortable hotel, not in its first flush of youth, but everything worked, and the breakfasts were lovely was even able to make english breakfast tea with proper milk! And then was able to take some milk back to my room so I could have a cup when I wanted it - (take your own tea bags tho'). the hotel was close to the Bell & Drum towers, and near the wall, and the muslim market. A couple of blocks away we found a Pizza Hut that made excellent pizza's....Our tour included Breakfast & lunch each day, so we basically had Chinese menu for lunch, and then snacks for tea, The Terracotta warriors were magnificient, and the Huxian folk painting village I went to was very interesting. The reconstructed City wall was a surprise, and with 9 miles of it, they have "runs" around it. Would have liked to have had a boat ride around the moat, but we ran out of time.

  The staff were very good. The rooms were of a high standard if showing their age a little but our room seemed well maintained with a tv and a room safe. It's in the Sofitel complex which is a nice quite area, with several restaurants to choose from including Dolce Vita which was pricey but excellent, (meal for two with starter and a beer each, ~£50). The room was mostly quiet with slight traffic noise. The breakfast buffet was good, excellent service and a good variety of options, expensive for China but overall worth it. Location wise it is a short taxi ride from all the main sights in Xi'an, some would be walkable if it wasn't so hot! Taxi's or buses are so cheap though it doesn't really matter. A tip for the taxi drivers is to have your desired destinations name and address in mandarin to show to the drivers.

  We stayed here for 2 nights to visit the Terracotta Army. The hotel was more than suited to what we were after, and we could walk to where we wanted to go (the Muslim quarter is a must!) within about 20 minutes. The room was pretty small but quiet, clean and comfortable.

  This hotel was totally fine for a two day tourist visit. The price was cheap - what else where the other negative reviewers expecting? In fact, considering it was so cheap I was impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness and efficiency of the staff. It's located within a clean oasis of a compound of other hotels owned by the brand so you have access, for instance, to the Sofitel pool. The furniture in the rooms is a little outmoded, but I think people mainly have this complaint regarding the old box style of TV! ARGH, horror! Get over yourselves! A trip to see the Warriors takes all day and for the other day we stayed there was the wall, bell and drum towers plus just walking around. Not a luxury hotel for spending all day in your room, but then what are you in xian to do?!

  It took us a while to find the hotel after arriving at the Railway Station - thanks Booking.com for the incorrect map of location.
  The hotel was fine, comfortable enough with helpful staff; albeit they struggled with English at times.
  It took about 30mins to walk to the Bell Tower from the hotel, so we ended up using taxis most of the time; but this was less than 20RMB from anywhere in the city to the hotel.
  A good hotel if you are on a budget.
