• Nice breakfast box

  It is never good when you have to leave a hotel before breakfast service commences. Thankfully I don't have to do so a lot but, when I do, I generally receive a breakfast box to take with me. Irrespective of the quality of the hotel, these are typically a disappointment with a few unappetising items crammed into a small box.
  
  I am pleased to say that the Hilton Xi'an did well - probably delivering the best breakfast box I have had. Ok so the bar was set pretty low but it was still a decent offering. Putting aside the breakfast box, this is a great hotel and I would happily return.
  
  Rooms are modern and very tastefully decorated. There is plenty of space and the beds are a good size and most comfortable. Very well equipped bathrooms and there is really nothing to fault in the accommodation.
  
  An excellent breakfast buffet and while the dinner buffet that we had was nothing to write home about, it was good value and I suspect the other hotel restaurant(s) probably come closer to fine dining.
  
  It is often easier to judge hotels when things don't go well and we started off with a problem at the Hilton. We arrived to check in at 5pm to be told that one of our rooms wasn't yet ready. We were offered a number of apologies and a complimentary bottle of wine even when the delay turned out to be just a few minutes.
  
  My only minor complaint or perhaps observation about the Hilton is that we were upgraded to the Club floor (floor 8) but because we had not booked for this floor, we were not entitled to use the lounge opposite our room. I was not wrestled to the floor and dragged out screaming when I went in to get myself a cup of tea but was nevertheless informed that I should not be there. I was left wondering if the hotel would not do better to fully rather than half upgrade customers.

  I am a business traveler and have always stayed at Hilton Xi'an during my transit there. The staffs are courteous and friendly. The bell desk pays close attention to details. Once I was standing at the lobby waiting for my ride and the bell man would approach me and asked if I needed any assistance. I found this gesture very considerate. Another time I made an error in my reservation and showed up a day late. The staffs at the executive lounge helped me sorted out my bill and prepared another room for me on the spot. I truly appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of the staffs at the executive lounge.
  
  The hotel is about two blocks away from the subway station and it is very easy to catch a taxi ride from the hotel as well.

• Exceptional hotel in Xi’an

  We stayed at the luxurious Hilton hotel in Xi’an and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had an elegant King Hilton Executive Room on the hotel’s 8th floor. The Executive Room allowed us access to the Executive Lounge — as it happens, directly across the hall from our room — with separate check-in/check out and private dining facilities. We also had a lovely buffet dinner in the sumptuous lobby floor restaurant one night, but having breakfast in the private dining room nearby our room saved a great deal of time each morning, especially on getaway day when we needed to make an early flight. We lived returning to the beautiful Xi’an Hilton at the end of a day touring in the 100-degree July heat in Xi’an.

• Their breakfast sets the standard

  I don't expect my experience to happen to everyone but I asked to share the presidential suite as the hotel was overbooked as i was traveling in a party of 4. What a fantastic experience! This is how the other 1% lives Wow. It was one of the highlights of the entire China trip.
  The buffet breakfast sets the standard for all others. It is worth staying at this hotel just to experience it. More like a brunch there is something for everyone. Even a gluten free section, An American born chef, ample seating and coffee from heaven. I could go on forever
  Location is also superb as it is within walking distance of the city wall where you can rent and ride a bike around the wall on an almost 9 mile journey. Try to avoid doing this during the middle of the day during summer as it gets really hot. It is inexpensive but there is a 200 yuan deposit per party.

• Excellent hotel for your visit to Xi'an

  You should plan on spending at least a couple of days exploring Xi'an and the Hilton Hotel close to the City Centre makes a great starting point for your sightseeing. The staff is super attentive and courteous, going out of their way to help you. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable with the standard breakfast options.
