  Stayed for two nights. Staff were very helpful and spoke English. Helped us work out the route to our chosen restaurant and wrote down instructions in Chinese so we could ask someone if we got lost! We didn't! Room and bathroom clean. It is a 4 star hotel and it was a very good 4 star. Breakfast was in the hotel and was a huge spread. We had access to the swimming pool at the Sofitel which is a two minute walk. They provided a locker, towel, flip flops to use there and a swim cap which they insisted on. Aircon was good which was the most important thing (after cleanliness) as the weather was hot, hot, hot!

  The Grand Mercure is a fantastic hotel to stay at in Xi'an. It's central to most of the sightseeing landmarks around the city centre and is within walking distance from the Muslim Quarter, Bell Tower and night markets.
  
  The hotel staff spoke limited English which made transactions a little confusing; we had trouble confirming the logistics of a deposit using credit card. We also had miscommunication around how many beds were available in our room.
  
  However, the language barriers aren't a reflection on the service or the hotel, just keep in mind that Xi'an is less cosmopolitan than other Chinese cities like Shanghai.
  
  We were very pleased with our room and we're warm and comfortable through snowy winter nights. Would definitely stay here again.

  We only stayed here for one night on our recent trip to China as its close to the Terracotta Army before flying onto Shanghai.
  The hotel was absolutely fine and a very good central location for us to wonder out for the evening and take in the Muslim district.
  Rooms were nice and spacious, check in and staff very friendly and breakfast was excellent.
  Would certainly be happy to stay here again

  Excellent customer service. We had booked a room with an extra bed. Realizing that the room may be small for three persons to share, we were offered an upgrade to a suite immediately. This is what exceeds customer's expectations.
  Very large property with facilities spread out between other group hotels within the same campus. Good restaurants with options. The surrounding areas also has number of good restaurant options. Good for family travelers.
