Excellent service exceed my expectation!!!
datin_tan
Penang Island, Malaysia | Aug 13, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed there for 3 weeks for business. It is not a luxury hotel, however with the price I paid, i trully think it is a great hotel because it was far exceed my expectation.
I was upgraded to a newly renovated room (16th floor) without additional charge, maybe due to my 3 weeks stay. I like the hotel very much and I would definitely stay here again if I visit Xiamen again!
These are some of my comments:
Room- not big for you to add another bed, but overall it is fine. The rooms at 16th floor are nice, heard that they just refurbished it not long ago.
Breakfast- It offers great varieties and I'm ok to have it for 3 weeks. But it could be even greater if the menu could be changed a little bit.
wifi- high speed internet in room, I was happy with that.
Location- Good location. Near to many eateries, convenient shops, food stalls laundry & etc.
SERVICE- This is the part i love most about the hotel!
The young boys at the concierge are always polite and helpful!
The room is always refilled with fruites and cookies after they cleaned it.The housekeeping team (floor 16th) was very detail and care about customer needs: the lady helped me to get all the necessaries without I speak out the request. For example, prepare me a small rack in bathroom for my toiletries, a rack and some more cloth hanger because she aware I washed cloths at the room, a vase for me as she notices I bought some flowers, a knife for me as she noticed I bought some fruites! I found the lady and I told her, I' ve staying at more than 50 hotels in the past five years, including 5 stars hotel in different part of the world, but I have never experienced this kind of great house keeping. (Hi Manager, please give the lady an increment if you see this)
The only complaint is about the loyalty card. I applied the card because I aware the program. The font desk staff didn't ask if I am the member of the loyalty program and if I want to apply one. And when I checked out, I was informed that the points only will be collected on my 2nd visit. What kind of program is this? I should easily earn at least 1 or 2 free night for similar royalty programs for a 3 weeks stay (I have H Honour and Accors card as well).
Anyway, I really like Ramada Xiamen and happy to stay here again. -
For the customer service

Ottawa, Canada | Jun 21, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessCustomer service of this hotel is impeccable. Concierge very helpful, manager present and cheerful. I often travel in China for business and have rarely seen this level of courtesy and customer service in an hotel, and was surprised to find this in a Ramada.
While the hotel facilities may be closer to a North American 3.5 starts, the service does bring this hotel to its 4 stars standards.
Things you should know:
1- The breakfast was great and offers many options that may satisfy those who prefer western options.
2- Because of an elaborate fountain system in the lobby, it seems that there could be a damp smell in the first couple of meters of the lobby. But this does not affect at all the room quality.
3- King bed quite comfortable
4- Consider dining options nearby. The "More Spice" restaurant is a decent place. -

Burnaby, Canada | May 16, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessPros:
Rooms (+) : Clean and comfortable room, good air-conditioning.
Service (+) : One of a few 4-star hotels on my biz trip to China (20+ hotels) where the maid folded my shirts while doing the morning clean up of the room
Breakfast (+) : Pretty good breakfast
Cons:
Dawn stink (-) : Every early morning there was a terrible sewage odor from the bathroom which lasted for about 1/2 hour.
Internet speed (-) . The internet was terribly slow in the evenings
Stayed on Sept 2012 -
A very enjoyable stay

Sydney | Nov 17, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayWe spent 5 nights here and were very happy with everything. I've noted previous comments about the age of the hotel and just want to say, what do you expect? It;s scrupulously clean, tidy and well looked after with impeccable service.
We were made to feel very welcome by Mr Ali and Rainie(? - sorry). We greeted with good morning/afternoon/evening by smiling, welcoming staff. No, there's not a lot of English but I figure not a lot of Mandarin in Australian hotels. However when English was necessary - someone was on the phone or at the door almost immediately. The rooms were comfortable and spacious enough with a small window nook that I appropriated as my desk (though there is an actual desk) as I could look out over Xiamen. BTW there was free WiFi. Bathroom was on the small side and the shower is over the bath - not a favourite but then I travel not to check out bathrooms nor to replicate my own home. It was fine.
Whether we were in the lobby, at the ground floor restaurant, in a lift or in the room, the staff were friendly, helpful, smiling and after a while we felt part of the family.
Food in ground floor restaurant was fine, with fresh made omelettes on offer.
I was torn about the actual rating for this hotel ... but the service pushed it out to a '5'. -
An Aging Ashtray
PH15
Hong Kong, China | Jun 19, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe Ramada was not particularly conveniently located compared to other hotels, but it's more economical. When I arrived at my floor, the elevator door opened to an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. The room was no better, if not worse. The cigarette smell permeated everything -- the sofa, the carpet, the bed, the chair, and the curtains! When I called for a change of rooms, I was told that there were only smoking rooms left. The front desk recommended a "non-smoking treatment", which turned out to be sending someone to the room to take away the (clean) ashtray and spray air freshener all around the room!
The smell aside, the entire hotel was aging and did not look particularly clean. The bathroom was spartan, except for an oddly placed fish ornament on the wall above the water closet. The lighting inside was poor.
The breakfast was relatively good compared to other Ramada's in China.
If I have to choose again, I will pay more for another hotel.
