My 1st trip to Xiamen
Pat C
Hong Kong, China | Sep 29, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI joined a tour to Xiamen and stayed in this hotel. My first impression on this hotel is just one word, ie. hugh. It has over 1000 rooms and one will get lost easily in this hotel. The buffet breakfast has a lot of variety and the restaurant can sit few hundred guests. The bedroom is a bit small, its bathroom and toilet is separated and the sink is outside (not inside either bathroom or toilet).

Pretty nice room, but the hotel staff are rather worthless
ERIC W
Hangzhou, China | Sep 23, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI stayed at the hotel for a single evening and booked this particular hotel because it wasn't too pricey and it was only a short distance from the airport. Upon arrival I was helped by a girl that spoke a little bit of English. She proceeded to ask for my passport and the name under which the booking could be found only to then ask me if I went by "xxx smith" or something to that tune. My response was that she was clearly looking at my passport and the name she suggested was so far off from my name on the passport you had to wonder what she was thinking. Anyways, check-in was a big hassle wasting time I could've been sleeping before my early flight. The hotel is nice, but don't hold your breath too much for the staff. I will add that the night manager was quite helpful and friendly.

Such a big hotel

Shanghai | Sep 2, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe were recently in Xiamen as our flight to Shanghai got diverted due to cyclone. We got to the hotel at 3 AM, they swung into action. Simplified the check in by taking our boarding passes noting down the room number and gave us a card with room number. Standard rooms are basic for a star hotel but ideal for conferences as its a big hotel. Buffet spreads and breakfast and lunch were good though not much vegetarian selection. Excellent service at the reception desk.

Smelly rooms and poor service!
Cassius1977
Kolding, Denmark | Oct 2, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel is conveniently located close to the airport - this seems to be the only positive thing there is to say...
The check-in was a hassle. Although we had written confirmation both as a text message as well as in an e-mail, it took forever before they finally manage to check us in.
The room was rather spacious, but the carpet as well the ceiling was dirty and when looking under the couch "by mistake" it was clear that the overall house-keeping level was rather poor.
Although this is a big hotel which seemed to have a high number of guests staying, none of the restaurants were open once check-in was done (9:30pm). On a Friday night, that seems rather dissapointing and strange. There was a snack bar (Yum Yum Café) which offered the traditional Western dishes like club sandwiches and hamburgers - both with fries. The sandwich was rather dry and the fries "over-cooked". The breakfast buffet, which was located on the executive floor, was okay, but nothing out of the extra-ordinary.
During check-in I was informed that the gym didn't open until 10am. However, in the hotel directory in the room it said 7am. After re-checking with the reception, 7am was confirmed. In terms of customer service, the people at the reception handling check-in/check-out and guest inquiries should be better "dressed" to assist the guests!
Speaking of the gym, I was rather surprised to see that it was actually fairly okay after realizing the condition of the room as well as the limited offers in terms of dinner. Most of the equipment is worn out, but there're a rather okay selection of dumb bells at the cardio-machines work perfectly. There were towels available, but no water.
The WIFI connection in the room was ok, although several apps wouldn't load properly.
Would I stay at this hotel in the future? Probably not. The check-in hassle, the lack of decent food choices as well as the smelly/dirty rooms means that I'll likely search elsewhere next time I'm in Xiamen. I believe it's possible to find a better hotel at the same rate.
