  This hotel surprised me. Pick up from the airport was waiting as I strode out of Customs despite my flight being delayed by around 5 hours. On the ride to the hotel, my room key was already given to me !
  It is set in a residential area in central Xiamen, not much beside it but within 20 minutes of every place worth visiting in the city.
  Service was superb, very courteous staff everywhere. My room was clean save for some aged stains in the tub. Complimentary fresh fruits and 2 small bottles of drinking water were stocked every day.
  Toiletries were more than I expected with bath robes and slippers. There was no flat iron in the room but it was provided within 5 minutes of my request.
  It's not yet 5 star as it claims to be but for sure it's on the right track. Worth returning to.

  The Hotel is located at the centre of the city, it takes 20 mins taxi from airport and you can have lot of local dishes within walking distance.
  The hotel has a good Japanese & Chinese restaurants which is my best choice for dinner if I want to take some rest after a full day job.
  The gym and swimming pool are nice but open till around 2130, that would be better if it can have 24hrs open for the gym room.

  Four of us from Singapore stayed 5 days in Jingmin Central and received throughout 5-star treatment from the staff - from the front office to the housekeeping to the concierge, everyone was superb. Little gestures like leaving fruits in the room every day and acceding to our requests for extra mineral water and coffee packs make our stay extra pleasant. In our crisis moments, the staff also extended invaluable assistance and support. One crisis was on the morning of 3rd May, when we discovered that one of our domestic air tickets (to Wuyishan) was issued to a different name. The wonderful lady at the business centre was patient throughout. She helped us call the airline and even provided her own mobile phone for contact. It's a great pity we lost her name and contact, and could not commend her great service to the management. The second crisis occurred on 7th May when we were stranded in Wuyishan due to a flight cancellation. We called Jingmin Central Hotel late in the evening to cancel our booking for the day and they did so without making a big fuss even though it was way passed check-in time.
  Location-wise, it is quiet but close to little local shops as well as big shopping malls. A ride to the Gulanyu ferry and Zhongsan Road costs a reasonable RMB 16 to RMB 30 depending on traffic conditions.
  For food, the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor was fantastic value: we had a 8-course set dinner for 4 pax for just RMB288nett. Delicious as well.
  We would most certainly return to Jingmin Central Hotel if we re-visit Xiamen.

  After spending 5 years in China, this is by far the most well-run Chinese-owned hotel I have ever visited. Friendly and helpful staff and management who looks after small details like fresh fruit offered every morning and little gifts upon arrival. Great location for finding local food and culture, 20 minute cab to the touristy cafe street area (Marco Polo Hotel) and just under 30 minutes to the airport. Nice pool, nice rooms, will definitely stay here again. Maybe not 5-star as mentioned, but great value for money.
