• The Facilities Are Not As Advertised

  This hostel doesn't offer what a hostel should yet they are still advertising themselves with these facilities. The restaurant and common area is apparently closed for refurbishment - so they said - but it has been closed since March from reading reviews and in our two days there, no construction was taking place.
  They advertise typical activities such as dumpling parties but none of these can take place or have taken place since at least March.
  The hostel is in a good location to get to but that is where ends. It is a 30 minute walk to the start of the action. There is also just one restaurant within 5 minutes walk and one Byoza stall for breakfast. Unless you take a taxi or are happy to walk a fair way after a long day or before a tour, as they no longer have their own restaurant you are restricted to just these two eateries. The staff are also absolutely useless in giving you advise on where to eat, I guess as there isn't anywhere close by.
  The room was nice but I think that is the only positive I can say about it. Im sure there are much better hostels out there in Xi'an.

  We stayed for 3 nights. Nice and helpful staff with good english.
  The room was comfortable and clean.
  Very well communicated by bus and metro.
  First night, when we arrived in the afternoon, we just notice that had forgotten out laptop on taxi. Luckily, the honest driver came back with it. Staff helper us to thanked the kind taxi driver.

  The hostel is close to the gate and easy to reach by subway and bus.
  The stuff very helpful. Some speak English.
  We stayed in a private room. The room was quite big, clean and comfortable. The pillows were not. The towels were changed every day but no cleaning other than that. Not even the bathroom or garbage.
  In the room there was a container of water but I can't remember a notice about charging for it. We ended paying for the whole container and used just a bit.
  They're renovating the restaurant now so we didn't have any food there.

  This hostel was in a good location on the inside edge of the wall. They arranged a free pick up from the station for us, which was much appreciated. There's a restaurant on site, so easy to get a good cooked breakfast. The hostel itself didn't have an amazing atmosphere, but nothing to complain about really.

• The cheapest place to stay in Xi' an!

  I decided to stay in this hostel because of the price (12 yuans), which makes this hostel the cheapest place in Xi'an. It is also very clean which is rare in China. There is a patio where you can chill after sightseeing. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to the renovation, and there were no dumpling party. :(
