Affordable comfort good value
Soo C
Oct 27, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesIts definitely affordable n good comfort western style hotel (if u had experience with Chinese style hotel !) Stay for 3 night twice with a trip in between in Luoyang. The twin room at the corner was bigger than the queen size bed room. Breakfast is at 25 yuan buffet, there are ala carte breakfast order too. But we didnt get it included. 5 mins walk to the main road access to many buses. Pretty good location.

Amsterdam | Oct 26, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesStayed here for 4 nights. Its clean and comfortable. Banks and ATM are close by. Got a free city map on arrival. There's a small busyness center inside as well. The staff is helpful and speak English. The breakfast is not included and is organized buffet style with both Western and asian food. Opposite the hotel is the bus stop from where you can reach the train station in a few minutes. From there on you take a bus to both the emperors hot spring park and the terra cotta wariors. The bus ride to the warriors takes abt 75 minutes.
We took taxis to get around the city because its not that expensive and it saves a lot of hassle. We enjoyed street-food at walking distances at Dong Xin Zie road. When you eat in places where its packed with costumers, you will know the food is great. Its worth to visit the muslim market at the Hui Min Jie area. We did a pushbike tour on top of the citywalls all around the city which provides nice vieuws. Its abt km all together and took us 2 hrs. You can do a short version it as far as you like and hand in the bikes at any of the many other checkpoints on the wall. The national museum Shan Xi is also worth a visit -

Singapore, Singapore | Oct 22, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayCheap and clean room. Check-in was fast and staff very helpful in advising where to visit and how to get there. Bus stops near hotel that can bring you to most attractions. Plenty of taxis and eateries. You can walk to the city wall or Bell Tower. Wet market opposite hotel. There is a small travel agency office in hotel. Hotel serve simple buffet breakfast. Laundry cost is reasonable.

Four nights in the Xi'an Ibis
CowichanBayConnie
Cowichan Bay | Sep 27, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyWe've been in Ibis hotels in other parts of the world, and this one is fine - clean and functional bathroom with shower, clean linens, clean room which even had a picture on the wall. We had an interior room, so quiet at night. Internet - slow but OK. I like that the room had an electric kettle so we could have morning tea (complimentary), and I guess if you wanted to boil water for noodles in a box that would work. Breakfast downstairs, very reasonably priced, and the staff tried to make us happy. The Chinese buffet is 28Y and the "western" plate is 15Y including pretty good coffee, bread, egg & green salad with some odd luncheon meat. We made sandwiches from the salad and meat to take out with us, as salad isn't customary at breakfast where we come from. Location - just a quick walk to the wall, buses (hard to figure out) are outside the hotel, there is a laundry (relatively expensive though) about 1/2 k north of the hotel. It's just a short walk to the amazing Forest of Stele museum. There is a restaurant right next door that makes good reliable and very hot (physically hot, not spicy hot) food, great when you're tired of dealing with unknowns. Housekeeping staff on our floor were lovely. Problems: It took two days to get a light bulb changed. Laundry - more help for visitors. Smoking - even on non-smoking floors, and who cares? There's only one sign when you get out of the elevator, so often the hall reeked of smoke. Each room needs a little sign on the door. Some of us are really sensitive. English signage (and map availability) could be improved, the sign about breakfast hours was unintelligible to us as only in Chinese. English with the front desk staff is a challenge, we found "Nancy" to be helpful and has a sweet attitude even dealing with foreigners. Credit card was accepted OK (Visa). Some hotels have a little information book for travelers in each room, this one could use one, even a shared one in the lobby in a number of languages would be helpful. Bottom line - good value, but could use a hands-on manager with an eye for details esp from a Western perspective. Great for people on a budget.
