• Sprawling complex with central location

  Spent two nights in Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors. The Westin is located fairly close to the center of the city with lots of other development around it. The hotel has a modern decor and is well maintained. The complex is very large - not tall so much as it is wide. My room was a good 5 minute walk from the lobby.
  The rooms are big - king size bed, full bathroom, full closet, and a desk. Pretty much everything you could need. Breakfast was included in our rate. It was serviceable. Nothing special. We had dinner at Zenses one night. Opted for Sichuan style food. Spicy, reasonably priced with good service.

• Well positioned and a very good standard

  The Westin is situated within walking distance of the Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the principal tourist attractions of Xian. The building is low rise, about 5 floors, and designed to blend with its surroundings. we occupied a huge suite on the ground floor, which comprised a large separate meals and lounge area, a bar area, huge bathroom, and a generous bedroom, with a king "heavenly" bed. No view to speak of. Plenty of complimentary bottled water, and fruit replenished daily. Staff we interacted with were unfailingly helpful, especially Leo, at the concierge's desk. Our son stayed in a separate room on the 5th floor, which was rather small and out-of-the-way...we were glad to have had our suite.

• My Best SPG Experience

  This was by far my best SPG experience ever. The hotel service was impeccable from pickup at the train station, to the seamless check-in, to providing recommendations for what to do. I had a suite with an expansive balcony and view of the Pagoda. I didn't want to leave my room especially with the amazing bed and soaking tub. The room was tastefully decorated and very relaxing.
  The breakfast buffet was awesome! So much to choose from and lots of amazing fruits and smoothies. I spent time in the SPA and pool area, which were both refreshing. It's very tranquil and a great way to get some exercise in to burn off all of the breakfast food.
  Don't forget to visit the art exhibit in the lower level. The pieces were incredible and worth spending time to see. It was also free for hotel guests.
  There's also live music in the bar/lounge. It was a great way to wind down the evening. Great selection of French wines served!
  Wifi is quick, no problem at all.
  I can't wait to return for another visit. It was the perfect weekend getaway. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

• UNBELIEVABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

  During our recent tour of China, my husband was hospitalised for three days in Xi'an with a stomach bug. While the University hospital provided excellent "medical" care, no one spoke English & in China, family are required to be with and care for the patient at all times! This includes consulting doctors, collecting test results and medications - a challenge when you speak only English!! The Hoel Manager visited us inhospitable and the Westin Xian Hotel provided English speaking staff on 8 hour shifts 24 hours a day for three days. They also provided a wheel chair, all our food, towels, pillows, toiletries, etc. I could not have managed without them. To my amazement, when I asked how much I owed them, I was advised that it was part of their "customer service" but they would be pleased if I chose to give something directly to the exceptional young men who assisted us at the hospital - something I was delighted to do. I look forward to returning to The Westin Xian to see the Terracotta Warriors which we did not get to see.

• Very Attentive Staff

  I spend 100+ nights per year in hotels so it is always a pleasure to stay at a property with highly attentive staff. I was very impressed by the team at The Westin Xian from the front desk, to concierge to the spa and restaurants. At every turn I was treated very well. The rooms were very well appointed and super clean and the location of the hotel was perfect. I would definitely stay in this property again.
