  The hotel rooms are a bit dated but the location is pretty good. Is close to the Muslim quarters, museums, and shopping centers. It is also a good base for nightlife but beware of the taxi drivers as most, for some reason, have trouble finding this hotel despite is next to the government building (I speak Chinese). always bring the hotel business card with you just in case.

  Pretty typical upscale business-class hotel. Walking distance (under a mile) from the Muslim district and great street food. Their concierge arranged reasonably priced private cars to the Terra Cotta Warriors and to the airport via the tomb of Emperor Jingdi. We enjoyed our two nights here and would highly recommend it. The rooms are very quiet, as it is set back from all of the adjacent streets.

  We stayed in the West Wing (there are two). Very comfortable bed adjacent to toilet, bathroom, shower, and tub and room has a separate sitting/dining area. Amenities were good and we had no problems with wi-fi. Service was excellent and the breakfast buffet had huge choices. In room dining choices were limited but acceptable. Many restaurants within walking distance. All in all, a good place to base a stay in the city.

  It was a delightful stay from start to end. The hotel staff were very helpful, concierge even helped us buy our train ticket back to Beijing. Smiles all around always, and always ready to go that extra mile. Good spread for breakfast. Rooms were clean and cozy. Good location.
  Will definitely stay here when back in Xian.

  Centrally located within Xi'an city within the compound of Renmin Square which consist of the Grand Theatre and Mercure hotel. The compound itself has a nice park to walk around after breakfast. Walking distance to malls and starbucks on the east side of the malls
  Exterior is weathered and pollution beaten but for most buildings in China, if it's not new, it will be in this sort of conditions so I wasn't perturbed by it.
  Large and elegant lobby/reception area with a modern bar next to it. Clean smelly air and helpful staff. Checking in was easy. Was offered a room upgrade with breakfast and Club access for 70SGD per night and I took it instantly.
  Walkway to the rooms is elegantly and exensively decorated. Room allocated was large but in a unique layout. Classed amenities/toiletries provided in a box. Clean thick large bath towels and feathered pillows and importantly is the comfy bed and room air was refreshing.
  Room decor is simple and blended well. We knew at once we could be retreat here in the room after every scenic trip we made for the stay. Our room was nighrly prepared for turn down.
  Club Sofitel happy hour starts 5pm to 7pm and offers a wide range of food and beverages. We enjoyed ourselves with the great hospitality by the 11th floor staff there. We did our fuss-free check-out here as well.
  Conseige (Leo) was very helpful in explaining the tours available within and outside of Xi'an provided by the hotel and highlight the charges clearly. We felt assured by him and took up the East and West tours.
  Wide variety of breakfast spread including both local and international. We were able to get a seat without having to wait at every breakfast. Happy staff showing on their faces serving us everyday.
  We wished we could patronize the hotel SPA and massages but the the price was on the high side.
  We enjoyed our stay here and I would say its one of the great hotel in China large city (4th largest city).
