Nice hotel if you don't mind the location
MsafiriTexas
Texas | Oct 10, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThis hotel has huge rooms with great amenities, looks very luxurious, and was always kept very clean. Rates are very reasonable for what you get. Breakfast is the best I have seen in a while, with so many tasty options, including made to order Chinese and Western offerings. I was unable to eat lunch the entire week I was there due to overeating at breakfast.
For the active, there was a indoor large Olympic length swimming pool. Exercise room had lots of options as well, though there was no towel in sight which i thought was curious. Not sure if it is a BYOT kind of a deal.
Only real negative is the location, not much to do or see without a taxi ride. However, there is a nice outdoor waterfront walking trail for those into such. The wifi was also consistently slow. -

Shanghai, China | Sep 10, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessObviously this hotel is positioning for the convention and exhibition events as the hotel is part of the development. The location is pretty far away from downtown and the hotel is like a ghost city since there are not many large events to hold in this third tier city. There is nothing nearby.
I am surprised the hotel could use the World Hotel brand as the hotel name although they belong to the World Hotel Alliance, it seems Chinese developers is too rich to get anything impossible possible.
I had a little quarrel with the car park management guy upon my arrival. I made a compliant to the duty manager and the problem get solved quickly, and they are kind enough to offer me a special fruit plate and free breakfast for the next morning. I give a thumb up for their problem solving skill.
This hotel was built on a huge floor plate, and the hotel owner is so generous to offer a large hotel room plus a rather wide public corridor (double the size of standard 5-star hotel).
The hotel is quite nice for an overnight stay, but I dont think I will be back for second try. -

Great weekend getaway with kids
ShanghaiGourmet
shanghai | May 28, 2025 | Trip type: FamilySpent a short two days at this hotel, planning to return with kids as it has great outdoor space, expansive green lawn right in front of the hotel where you can fly kites provided by the hotel. Or hop onto a bike for a ride around the area and through the wetlands to commune with nature. In the middle of the lake, there's a sandy area for playing beach volleyball, tennis courts etc. And within walking distance you can visit an ancient Chinese town Xuntang town.
The food in the hotel is good too, breakfast buffet is adequate, the Noodle Bar hits the right note. The lobby lounge is cozy and tucked away behind the lobby. There was a outdoor bbq party next to the lake, really nice ambience especially in spring or autumn. Rooms are spacious and bright, in the bathroom, there was a face towel folded into the shape of an elephant, how creative. -
Chinese style hotel with clean rooms
Ivan O
Charlotte, North Carolina | Nov 2, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessOn the whole the hotel was clean and quite new. The food in the restaurant appeared to be the same everyday for breakfast so after three days I was starting to wish for something different. The restaurant tables were not well cleaned. The wait staff simply removed dirty plates and chopsticks and replaced them with clean utensils but left stains and crumbs on the table uncleaned. But they were most enthusiastic about removing your dish the moment you leaned back from eating.
The hotel room was clean and quiet. Not much of a view but not too bad. The balcony door is locked but the cleaning lady can open it for you,
That said, this is a Chinese hotel, so be prepared for smokers galore. They smoke everywhere and I mean everywhere. The non smoking rooms go quickly so book and request early. If you are a smoker you will really enjoy your stay here.
The gym opens at 7am and I wished it was much earlier. The indoor pool is huge and looks pretty clean.
I had a pretty pleasant stay there, except the constant smell of cigarettes.
