Perth, Australia | Oct 24, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyVisited the Japanese Restaurant, AOI, this evening. This must be the best Japanese restaurant in Wuxi. Food quality were as close, if not the same, as you can get in Japan. Prices were acceptable for a Japanese restaurant. Service was good, staff were attentive. Many staff understood English, which is rare for Wuxi.
Restaurant is tastefully decorated and designed. A number of private rooms are also available.
Definitely recommended. -

It took nearly 30 minutes to check in, service was incredibly slow. Even though I had booked a non-smoking room none were available. The rooms have aged and are dirty - mold in the shower and hair in my linens. Overall I was extremely disappointed, as a IHG gold member.

First impression was of a well presented hotel , spotlessly clean in all areas. Our room was large , with a very comfortable bed , and everything we could need provided. Breakfast was lovely each morning with a comprehensive selection of food , enjoyed in a very well run breakfast room. The management of this hotel should be proud of their staff, everyone we encountered was extremely polite , helpful and happy.
Location is good , with a tube station about 5 mins walk away. Would reccommend this hotel and certainly stay here again when in Wuxi. -

Calgary, Canada | Sep 27, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI was visiting my brother who has lived in Wuxi for the past 14 years. I had never been to China and was expecting a lesser known city to be less developed than the 'big 3' of Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
Boy was I wrong. Not only is Wuxi a very modern city with phenomenal infrastructure and great public transportation, the Hotel Intercontinental was a beacon of greatness in a wonderful location.
The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. The room was big, modern, a great bathroom and very comfortable bed. It also had an amazing view.
The buffet breakfast was large with one of the best varieties and high quality of food that I have enjoyed anywhere in the world.
The Steakhouse in the main floor was first class with a very nice wine list.
In short, I was duly impressed and look forward to a return visit to Wuxi so I can stay there again. -

Nanjing | Aug 12, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessMy his hotel has beautifully decorated rooms in the typical intercontinental style, the service is excellent, as IHG member you usually get an upgrade to bigger rooms. I particularly like the international breakfast section with quite some Japanese dishes in very good quality. Worth to mention is the Japanese restaurant in this hotel, though not crowded (a bit pricey) it serves very fresh sashimi and the chef is really very skilled preparing beautiful dishes that also taste very good.
