Excellent front desk

Taipei, Taiwan | May 12, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessIt claims to be a 5 star hotel. But in my pinion, it is only a 4 star one.
A little dated. The cleanliness of the room was inadequate. The bed was made without a proper sheet, which was also stained. Air condition did not function very well. No cool air before the noon every day. One day, I took a shower at 11AM. So surprised to find that there was no hot water.
Free and fast WiFi. Average breakfast buffet. .
The front desk service was excellent. Especially Miss Xu (徐), she provided very attentive and helpful services. -
Comfortable and Convenient

Canyon Lake, California | Jan 11, 2026 | Trip type: Solo travelThe Oriental Hotel is located less than a 5 minute walk from the Hankou train station. The train station has access to the subway, bus, and high speed trains, so if you need to get in and out of Wuhan, or around the area, this hotel would be a convenient place to stay. I stayed here for just over a week while I toured Wuhan. I picked this hotel because of the relatively cheap cost in a big city.
There are many places to eat and 4 or 5 convenience stores located within walking distance of the hotel. The dining ranges from walk in/take out to sit down fancy. There is a bank located on one side of the building. There is also a mall about a 20 minute walk from the hotel, which passes a Starbucks, if that is your thing.
Taxis abound in this area, and they continually pass the front of the hotel all day long. They are easy to flag down, and they are much cheaper than I thought they would be. It cost 38 yuan to get to the Provincial Museum downtown, and 54 yuan to get to Mo Mountain.
All of the sites are located on the other side of the Yangtze River, so plan on taking many taxis, unless you have a ride set up. -

Convenient location, decent quality

Australia | Jul 30, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe hotel is located adjacent to Wuhan Hankou train station (where a number of the high speed trains depart from).
My wife and I stayed there while travelling from Shenzhen in China to Jingzhou. We had flown from Shenzhen to Wuhan and were then getting the train from Hankou station to Jingzhou the following morning.
You can easily walk to and from the station to the hotel, even with a lot of luggage. There are also a number of cheap fast food restaurants near the hotel, convenience stores and a super market.
The hotel is said to be 5 stars, but would not be 5 stars by western standards. That said, it has recently been renovated (the staff said it was renovated in the last two years) and it is clean and everything in the rooms functioned well. Make sure you ask for a non-smoking room, which appear to all be located on level 9 (which may be a non-smoking floor, but it wasn't clear). We were initially placed in a smoking room on lvl 8, and despite being clean, the smell of smoke was obvious.
The rooms were appointed with toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, shaving kit, hair dryer, etc. The room had a mini bar which was empty.
The gym was not finished yet (apparently still under renovation), and we did not have the breakfast as we ate nearby.
If you want to get a foot massage before bed, avoid the health club located in the hotel - it is over priced. We found another massage place downstairs around the corner - about a 5 minute walk away - which cost less than half the price.
The room cost 540 RMB, which was fair. It included free wifi - but you will need to ask reception for a router. Also the English skills of the staff are limited.
Overall I rate it as a decent hotel that will let you have a good nights sleep if you need the convenience of staying next to Hankou station while travelling.
