  Big room, shower and bath you have the choice. Mini bar, wifi is working well. There is a swimming pool, sport equipment. Restaurant is very good, plenty of choice. Breakfast is really nice, and people are welcoming you so well.
  Hotel is best located in the center of Wuhan, not so far from night places, mall...
  I recommend for business trip

  Fantastic hotel in downtown Wuhan. Great location. Waking distance to restaurants and shopping. Take care crossing the road as the drivers do not adhere to the cross walk signals. Great food. Good room service. Lovely bathrooms. Interesting views. Concierge very helpful. Would definitely stay again. Great business hotel. Very pretty.

  We stayed here while the hotel was hosting a large group of people for the Asian soccer world championships and still received very good service. The breakfast buffet is very good, with fresh offerings every day. A good balance of western and Chinese menus. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. I was also welcomed by a special toiletries pack which was a nice treat.

  So what is fair to expect from a 5 star hotel like Shangri-La Hotel Wuhan?
  Quality? Attention to detail? Outstanding Service Excellence? Hygiene? Cleanliness?Perfect Service Recovery when things go wrong?
  I visit the fitness center and spa - and choose to shower first but am repulsed by the build up of mold on the shower doors, and layer of slime on the jacuzzi. Certainly no attention to detail or hygiene focus there.
  I find a guests car or locker key in the hotel corridors, so take it to the front desk to inform them where I found it so that it may be recovered back to a worried guest. What response would you expect from the team members after handing the key in?? I received a 'ok'. Hmmm, I expected a different response.
  This morning I visit the breakfast restaurant 'Cafe Wu' and first take a glass for juice. But its dirty, so I take another, and its dirty, so I take another and its dirty. I then inform a team member and they tell me they are 'sorry', take the dirty glass and then place it back amongst the tray of glasses! I remind them that they shouldn't do that as its a dirty glass. 'Don't worry Sir, I will get you a clean glass!' they respond. Hmmm - attention to quality??
  I sit at my table and now start to notice the details as I'm suspicious from my previous experiences. I notice a dirty table mat, glass smudges of food and body oil on the table. A work station in the middle of the restaurant that's really poorly kept (open cupboards and drawers, dirty rags and out of place items. It seems like that scene shouldn't belong in this environment. (See pic)
  So I revisit the juice station to finally get my juice. Ten minutes had passed and the manager had organized for a new tray of glasses. But the glasses are marked and dirty again! I inform the restaurant manager and ask 'is this the standard here?' He informs me 'its not' and arranges for the tray to be removed again! What would you expect from your new glass of orange juice after having raised disappointment with previous glasses??After my first sip I notice more marks on another glass. (Pic) What's wrong in the situation? Where is the attention to detail? The restaurant Chef approaches me and I am expecting an apology. But instead he asks if I would like coffee or tea.
  I depart the restaurant disappointed with the attention to detail, cleanliness, attention to quality and lack of service recovery.
  I hope the next five days in the hotel don't disappoint like the first.

• Great hotel in Wuhan!

  Stayed for two nights while on a cycling trip through China, and had a really good experience. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who took care of our bicycles. The check in was easy and we had our key and were in the bar within 10 minutes. The room was really nice with very comfy beds and all the amenities you could wish for. The restaurant inside the hotel called Wu Cafe had a buffet and a la carte menu, we had the burger and it was delicious. If you don't want to eat inside the hotel there are plenty of options in the area. We decided to take a walk down to the Yangtze River park and go to a few bars which is around a 2.5 km walk. The whole experience was really good and if I ever go back to Wuhan I would revisit this hotel.
