• Great rooms but food is not westerner friendly

  Great rooms with amazing views of the Wuhan river and skyline. Particularly at night the buildings and bridges perform a light show that looks great from a high floor. Reception speaks good English and was happy to arrange taxis for us etc.
  
  The hotel is located right next to a nice small temple (free entry if not in a large group) that is a pleasant way to kill 30 minutes.
  There is also an excellent sculpture garden about ten minutes walk down the riverside park that I would strongly recommend.
  
  Avoid the restaurants in the hotel if you are a westerner, even the buffet had very little that we could eat (basically only meats that you grill at your own table and some deserts).

  We stayed here overnight as a stopover before leaving for Wudangshan the next day. Quite far from the Wuhan train station, which cost us 95RMB by taxi; but much closer to the Wuchang train station. Traffic by the hotel was hectic. We were stuck in traffic for almost 15 minutes just about 1 km from the hotel. Hotel location is good, though, right by the river. Our room has a nice view of the river, though not so pretty in the morning, must be from the smog; but night view was nice from the lights of the buildings. Room is nice with standard amenities. Staff is courteous. The hotel does hold many functions, such as birthday and wedding parties, which can be quite noisy. If you want hotel breakfast, try to get there early if you want a table with a river view. This is spring traveling time for many locals, & the place gets crowded, & noisy. Breakfast is a feast, and, if you can overlook the hungry crowd, can be very enjoyable. The breakfast room staff works very hard & is very helpful. I was able to walk along the river bank to admire the blooming Sakura trees. Very pretty. Overall, a good stay. Thank you.

  Since this hotel is across the river from the main city center the price is cheaper. This also means that if you get the river view (A Must) you get a more beautiful view, especially at night. There's not much around the area, but if you walk outside the hotel and turn left the 2nd Chinese restaurant on your left has a good value menu (The goose was very good) and there's a convenience store. I never tried the food in the hotel. The nearest subway was only 10 RMB by taxi. Too far to walk. Taxi's were easy to find and many were waiting in the parking lot.
  
  The desk staff is friendly and speaks English. The lobby is spacious and nice.
  
  The rooms were hit and miss. The bathroom was updated and clean and the furniture ,while a little old, was ok. However, even though this was a non-smoking room and there was no smell, the carpet had a few large cigarette burns. The carpet is OLD.
  
  The king size bed is actually 2 twins put together which means you can't sleep in the middle, there's a significant drop there. The bed has a nice thick mattress pad on it to make the Chinese mattress much more comfortable. I slept well. There's a refrigerator in the room which is convenient.
  
  The worst problem was the climate system. The first 2 days the room was much too warm even with the climate system off. Only a small corner window can be open for air. Luckily the temperature outside dropped the last 2 days and the room was comfortable. But I have no idea how the room was being heated with the climate system off.
  
  Overall I would stay here again. It's a good value and the area is nice and quiet. It only costs about 20-25 RMB to go across the bridge and get to the main shopping areas.
