The hotel is very close to the airport and therefore very far from downtown, so there is nearly nothing around hotel. Because Tianjin is not so big as Beijing, I will select a downtown hotel next time even if I have to catch a plane......
The reception was warm when I checked in......
The room looked a little dirty......
Complimentary breakfast was served, but the quality was not good......

staying in this hotel quite frequently as my company has a subsidiary just arround the corner. the hotel is really basic and when beeing compared with other holiday inn express chain hotels it would really be among the worst ten percent they have. overall it is ok if you need to stay for a short night and want to keep costs down. it i still slightly better than the budget chinese chain hotels. breakfast is horrible - don't go there. accross the street is an american burger place which can give you at least an acceptable coffee in the morning...cheers

The room was really dirty and the non-smoking room had such a strong smell of smoke. Flies all around the room. Breakfast was acceptable and the shuttle bus got me to the airport on time. Suppose all you want for an airport hotel is a clean bed and a powerful shower.

stinky! dirty! never come back again!
I and my husband were on a business trip to Tianjin, we booked a double room for 4 nights there, after a long flight from Europe, we really wanted to have a rest. However, we were not lucky, after checking in the hotel, on the way to our room we saw the carpet was dirty, when we entered the room, the bed sheet and the pillows were stinkt. We could not handle the smell, and deceided to look for the other hotel on the internent. within 30 min. we checked out the hotel and left. ( we still paid for the first night , but without staying overnight there)

I've stayed at a few Holiday Inn Express hotels before and generally have a pleasant experience, but this one really failed to impress. The room I got had a horrible musty smell, the aircon didn't work properly, the pillows smelt vaguely of cigarette smoke (nothing strange in China) and the carpet looked anything but clean. The breakfast was just OK... at least it fills your stomach. Only positive things were that the beds were relatively soft (by Chinese standards) and it was cheap and close to the airport, but I would gladly pay a bit extra and drive a bit further to stay at a better hotel.
