  Every time I travel to China always stop in Tianjin visit my friends.This hotel always my choice.
  The hotel is near everything the shopping center supper market in 5 min walk near train station is near by.
  If you ask for the top 29-32 floor room you have a great view of the rive.A very nice park across the hotel.The night view is great.
  The room is bit old but is room is big with living room and kitchen etc... like a your own appt.for 30 dollars a night.
  Ocean Hotel Tianjin is my 2 home .
  If you are take a cruise and the front desk will arrange a taxi for you to the international port for you.
  I like to stay at this hotel again and again.

  The Ocean Hotel Tianjin lives up to its three-star rating (and my 3 telephone rating). English speaking doormen and front staff, large, reasonably equipped rooms. My room was “non smoking”, but I think they removed the ash trays and “freshened” the room at the last minute. Free Internet, English on the TV, water cooler, and standard Chinese bag amenities. Rooms are a little worn and the bathroom could use an update, and it is not the greatest bed. The hotel is near the Tianjin train station (8 RMB, 7 minutes by taxi) and the very pleasant , ersatz little Italy within walking distance, with reasonably priced food. If you get a good rate, I would recommend this hotel

  I would highly recommend the Ocean hotel if you are looking for hotel close to the airport. The rate is very good for what it offers. It's only half an hour drive to the airport. Very close to the railway station, it's not a 10 minutes walk though, get a taxi. However, there is hardly anything exciting in the vicinity, mainly concrete blocks. Plenty of taxis infront of the hotel, so it's not a big problem to get around. It was only 8-10 yuan to go to the Culture Street, or you can walk along the river infront of the hotel to get there. We had no problem getting a taxi at 5am the next morning. The single bed was big enough to fit my daughter and I, and we are not even petite!

  Once I was coming back from a business meeting and my client brought me to this hotel as it is right in front of the building where I stay. So the entrance is not from the main road but on an adjacent side street. As we entered the lobby hotel seem to be busy with conferences and banqueting. We walked towards the elevators and I notice the pictures of Chefs with medals and trophies I was expecting the food to be delicious. We ordered few dishes but not even a single dish served was anywhere close to be called edible. Walnut Chicken which is usually crispy, sweet & salted was soggy & salted. Dumplings were not steamed properly, duck was served cold. Chef should be really ashamed of the food he is serving there. By the way I saw Shark fin soup in the menu (Is it not banned ?) None of the staff speaks English, luckily my client was Chinese so I managed. Otherwise hotel is on a good location with train & metro station nearby plus the Italian village as well.

  The hotel definitely has seen better days. The room was small and not very clean. In fact, the carpet was pretty disgusting. The linens were worn out and desperately needed to be replaced. The internet was free but quite slow (typical in a Chinese hotel). The breakfast was 36RMB and wasn't very good with very limited selections. The staff was inattentive but not unfriendly. I had reserved for two nights, but moved out after the first night. The location is not bad as it sits right next to the river and close to the East Train Station. I won't be staying here again.
