Very nice hotel. Service could be better

Hotel is good in terms of facilities that are build to meet standards if Westin, but maintenance and Service could be better.

A few specific points:

1. There were flies flying around buffet - dinner as well as breakfast, occasionally also around the tables. I felt they don’t do complete cleanup after every time they closed the buffet. Saying this because I was there in the “Signature” restaurant for both dinner & breakfast and some of the items looked the SAME.

2. One of treadmills in the gym was - 4the from the right- was not ok. Belt was slipping- I find it potentially dangerous. There’s no one to report about, not even a register to make note of ( there is a signage asking guests to register, but there was no pen & paper)

Finally did give feedback to the reception, Would be good if they act on it.

One bright spot was the F & B manager, Michael, who was great with his service, communication and reaching out to guests.

The front desk was polite, customer centric, and extremely helpful. Represented by Koko and Maria, the staff of the front desk made checking in quick and smooth. The first floor's breakfast manager responded to requests immediately. Westin Tianjin's pool and Jacuzzis were showered with sunlight through a glass ceiling. The pool was the perfect temperature and the Jacuzzis supplied pool temperature or a boiling temp. Westin Tianjin truly made my stay relaxing and fun.

Stayed for two nights in executive room. Great room, excellent bed, all facilities good. Used executive lounge for free food and drinks. Ground floor restaurant for breakfast great- loads of options to eat. Staff very cheerful and helpful. Would return!

Need some improvements

I've been to many Westin hotels or other SPG hotels. This one is probably at the lower end. Bathroom needs more detail clean. The bathroom sliding door was jammed the first day. Hold almost 10 mins to reach front desk. Beds were comfortable.

Stayed here 2 nights before proceeding to Beijing. Entering the lobby, their manager Ron Zhao came to personally welcome and escort me to the club lounge for my check in as a SPG Platinum member.

Every staff that serve me subsequently at the club lounge like Koko, Jenny, etc makes me feel so at home and are all very helpful with my numerous enquires as a first time tourist in Tianjin.

The room is excellent and well maintained. The heavenly king size bed is something I really like staying in Westin.

It’s a pity that the club lounge doesn’t open for breakfast over the weekends. That results in us having to join the crowd below for breakfast.
