  Average. Nothing special but no issues. Large comfortable room. No communication issues. Holiday Inn food. Koi pond in the lobby that stank. OK service. No communication issues. I would stay there again if I did not have time to check around.

• Good Location but average Stay

  Although the hotel located well but the hotel overall was average. the lobby was small and the room needs to be renewed.
  It's hard to get a taxi during the rush hours so try to walk to the subway station.

• Disappointing first glimpse of China

  Never having been to China before, we chose this hotel as our stay while in Tianjin. The hotel is in a great position close to the riverside markets and Culture Road markets and a few shopping malls. We chose it because of location and price and what it had to offer according to its advertising.
  Well what a disappointment!!!
  Lovely room with great view.
  But...... NO room service as advertised... NO pool as advertised .... NO gym as advertised......NO restaurant for dinner meals.... Haven't had these amenities for 4 years but still advertise them as available.
  Buffet breakfast is adequate.
  Room is well serviced each day.
  Great view from a great room in a well positioned hotel but that is all it is.

• A Pleasant Short Family Stay

  We took a 2D1N break from our Beijing Trip and stayed in Tianjin Holiday Inn Express City Center. Overall this is a pleasant stay. Here are some experience to share.
  We took the high speed rail from Beijing to Tianjin. A very convenient and fast (~35min) way to reach Tianjin. Once in Tianjin Station, look out for the sign for Taxi (which is a short walk out of the station), ignore all those apparently illegal drivers approaching you, just turn them down and join the queue for Taxi. There are plenty and the turn over is fast. However, do note that some taxi does not have sufficient space in their boot. For us, 2A2C + 1 mid-size luggage just fit into a cab.
  The hotel is located just under the "Jin Gang Bridge" on ZhongShan road. Taxi in Tianjin is much cheaper than in Beijing, ~RMB7 for start. The trip from train station to the hotel is less than RMB10.
  We booked 2 rooms and the front desk helped to get us a connecting rooms. The room size is bigger than typical Holiday Inn Express. I am satisfied with the basic facilities; like most hotels in China, there is always a strong smoking smell despite being on the "non smoking" floor.
  We managed to walk to the 'Historical Cultural Street' which is a ~20min stroll along the river bank, and cross at the second bridge (away from the Tianjin eye direction).
  Breakfast is reasonable in my view. No problem finding a clean table at ~9am.
  Getting a taxi outside the hotel is not a problem. Most of the attractions are within a short ride.
  The rooms are spacious and wide selection of local TV channels. Only a handful of international channels though. Sufficient storage space and a safe big enough to place my laptop. Coffee/Tea making facilities and a empty mini-fridge, so you can stock up some cold drinks from the convenient stores... We bought some pastries from a bakery shop opposite the hotel.
  Overall this is a pleasant stay in Holiday Inn Express Tianjin City Center.

• Budget hotel

  This hotel is meant for budget travellers or those who are on short stay. As such, do not expect good deco and furnishing in the room. The amenities are ordinary. Hotel atmosphere is quiet. Staff service is below average.
