  We stayed at this hotel back in 2011 and returned to spend 2 nights before boarding our cruise ship on November 7, 2015. This hotel is nice, comfortable and at a convenient location in the heart Tian Jin, China. We were upgraded to a mini one bed room suite with a very firm bed and two large LCD screen. Our stay included the use of the executive lounge which, although relative small, was very relaxing, with provisions for complimentary breakfast, snacks, light dinner items, wine, beer, special coffees and soft drinks. The service was very smooth and upto the standard of American based Marriott hotels. The rate we paid was very reasonable, at under $100 U.S. per night taxes included.

  I'm here now at the Marriott downtown Tianjin and it's a great hotel. The location is great, the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. There is an exec lounge for plat and gold members and the breakfast is amazing. I will certainly be back.

  Not the first time staying here due to previous business visit few years ago. A return trip to Tianjin to visit old colleagues and have a proper visit of the city. Remember this hotel is located in a convenient place with 小白楼 station right in front and a food street next to it. Shopping malls also around it if you are in the mood to buy stuffs. It is also near 五大道 walking distance which is another main attraction. Going to 天津站 where you take the bullet train to Beijing is also another 10 mins train ride away. Rooms are clean and properly furnished. Hotel is dated but well-kept except breakfast cafe's toilets seems dirty and deserted. Think no one uses it and not kept clean because I found no toilet paper in each cubicle.

  We stayed here for three nights on a break from Beijing. Found the hotel to be in a central location with the majority of the tourist sights within a 15rmb taxi ride away. The river is a 5 minute walk, plenty of shops and restaurants nearby (go to 'European ristorante' if you're a fan of Chinglish- turn right out of the main doors and right again along the pedestrianised street). The facilities are fine; big gym which is quite well stocked, a large indoor pool, decent 4* breakfast. On arrival we had a problem with our documents but were upgraded to a suite for the trouble caused (which wasn't really the hotels fault, so it was a kind gesture). The suites are great; a large bedroom, separate seating area, two TVs, two bathrooms and great views of the surrounding area. Decor is very Renaissance- dark wood, beige carpets, etc. All in all we would recommend this hotel.

  This must be my fifth or sixth time staying at this hotel. I need to remember to ask my China staff not to book this place again. It is dated and worn out as in more worn out on my each stay. The carpet is old and not very clean. There are so many new hotels to choose from in Tianjin, I would try somewhere else. The price is about the same as other nicer places. The place appeared to be emptier than my previous stays. The breakfast here used to be a highlight, but that deteriorated as well. Don't know what to say any more other than adios. The only saving grace is that it does have a gym (barely useful). Oh, and also he free snail speed internet is also free (may be because I belong to the loyalty program).
