Nice hotel in a good central location!

It was located in the city hence there were lots to see even at nighttime. However I was so tired after checking into the hotel that I did not take advantage of that but I knew others did. Great for them!
The reception area was grand but the room was not. It was nice and clean but required refurbishment.
The air con was a bit dated but it was working in good order.
I did manage to get some sleep. Overall it was okay.
Breakfast included both hot and cold buffets and there were plenty to choose from. Lovely!

Having stayed in various other 5 star hotels while in China I found this to be very average. The hotel is dated and needs a degree of maintenance to make it up to the standard of other hotels of this calibre. The location is good and is a short walk to the old city. All in all not a bad hotel but not a great one either

Being in the old city and to be able to walk everywhere is brilliant. The room was fine. The buffet breakfast was always out of fruit and juice and other bits and pieces. Everyday we had to ask for them to refill.The gym smells of cigarette smoke and the equipment is limited.
This hotel with a bit of effort could easily lift their image.
Needs maintenance and a better supply of coffee!

We stayed here as part of a China Spree tour. The Marco Polo hotel in Suzhou was quite a surprise - the wall between the bath and the bedroom area was glass and the tub was right next to the glass! There was a curtain that could be lowered to block the view. It was an interesting contrast - a beautiful place with gorgeous woodwork that was not well maintained. The room smelled of smoke, the carpet looked dirty, and there was mold in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. The Breakfast buffet here was not very good - unbelievable that they had at least 90 American tourists in 2 separate groups and the only coffee available was one espresso machine. They kept running out of coffee and/or the machine would quit working. We were glad that we were one of the first for breakfast and got our coffee!

Great location, in the Suzhou old city, not far away from SIP. The hotel is ok, although... just ok. It is quite expensive when you compare it to other hotels in the city. And in fact the price is not equal to the value. The rooms and bathrooms have seen their better days, wi-fi is not working well, the breakfast could be better, not all the dishes are fresh. In general, the hotel is a bit scary...I tried several hotels in Suzhou and I would not recommend this one, at least not for this price. The room rate is the same as for 5-star hotels, but the hotel is only average.
