Superb Reataurant
SinghCzar
New Delhi, India | Apr 5, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessAs i could not find the restaurant listing i am writing this for the Chineses Restaurant in this Hotel. This is near the Sports stadium in Shenzhen near the Bay. As this was a Business Dinner by our Hosts, we were informed this is a very special restaurant. That turned out to be true as we were served a variety of dishes. This place is quite amazing to say the least. Very good food, nice ambience and decor though we were in a private dining room. Well woth a visit

A good work in progress
EricPerth_Australia
Perth, Australia | Feb 11, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI had never heard of this hotel brand previously but a business associate recommended it. This is a new-ish hotel with beautiful design, large rooms, good, interesting fit outs both in the rooms and in the public areas and can be a 5 star facility but for small staffing and training issues. Little attention to details like wiping off finger print smudges off the elevator buttons, ensuring non-smoking rooms do not smell of cigarette smoke, makes all the difference between a well run hotel and one that is still a work in progress.
My room smelt of cigarette smoke despite being non-smoking. When I called housekeeping, the person who answered it hung up on me in panic when I enquired in English. I do not automatically assume everyone can speak English, especially as this hotel appears to cater more for a domestic clientele than an international one. I had apologised for not speaking Chinese and had enquired whether anyone at the other end of the line spoke English. English is not generally spoken at reception either although a few staff members could. Having said that, they were pleasant and went out of their way to assist despite language difficulties.
The bed is comfortable and clean. The bathroom has a shower and a bath. The amenities are good. Wifi is free in the rooms but tends to be rather slow. Location wise, it is right next to a large sports complex and currently surrounded on at least 2 sides by construction work.
This is one place that with a little bit of attention to detail and staff training can be a wonderful hotel. It will help the enjoyment of your stay too if you can speak Chinese. If you are generally unwilling to put up with communication issues, then find somewhere else that caters to a more international clientele. -
I really wanted to love this hotel but couldn't
Colin C
St. Ives, United Kingdom | Oct 16, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThis is a place that you should want to love. The whole ambiance is wonderful and the location not bad - walking distance from a mall and the metro and reasonably close to Seaworld and the HKG border. The rooms are also very good indeed being of very reasonable size and extremely well fitted. The shower is brilliant which brings me on to why I just can't love the place. The service!
My first room had no hot water. Okay these things happen but not good I had to report it twice! The first time was more like comedy central but the following morning I spoke to another person and I have to say he was absolutely brilliant (and hence 3 star rating, not lower), sorted the problem immediately (by switching rooms) and had all my stuff moved one to the other. So service is highly variable in my experience and that isn't good enough for a place of this calibre.
Another issue which isn't really the hotels fault but could potentially be an issue to visitors is the fact its currently surrounded on three sides by building sites that operate 24/7. I wasn't disturbed too much by this but a colleague on another side of the building said it was quite noisy. -

Terrible service, not 5 star standard
chinatraveller888
Beijing, China | Jan 2, 2026 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel looks very nice, rooms are very comfortable, clean, cloth cleaning lady very nice and polite. Doorman was also helpful when asked to go out to buy something in a nearby shop.
However, some problems with other services, inconsistent quality of service that brings the hotel to sub-standard level
WiFI not working
Wi-Fi does not work well, it has unstable connection and, when it connects, the speed is extremely low…basically unusable; had to recur to using 3G card.
Restaurant staff unpolite. On many occasions, their response was not adequate. As an example, I asked one of the waitresses, Su Mao Ying, to bring some cutlery and she answered with "You can go and get it over there". This is a totally unacceptable answer for a 5 star hotel. Restaurant manager apologised, but Miss Ying is likely to continue to serve there, as are other stuff members. As an aside, the restaurant offers both Chinese and western food (steaks!), so it should provide both chopsticks as well as knives and forks (it is difficult to eat steak with chopsticks), anyway
Room card: if lost, the hotel charges 50 RMB, which is probable 1000 times the costs of the actual card. Now, it is perfectly fine that guests who bring damage to the property pay for the cost of it, but that's where it should end, "the cost", indeed. The hotel should not make profits out of client’s damages and surely, for a 5 star hotel, charging for lost room card is petty, anyway.
Air conditioning not effective. This is where the things get surreal. The hotel has a policy that all air conditioners blow hot air in the winter and cold air in the summer. All hotel rooms have large glass wall and during the day, no matter what month of the year, it creates a greenhouse effect for which cool air conditioner is necessary. Please note that this is Shenzhen, a sub-tropical climate, where, even in January, outside temperature can be above 20/25 degrees. But the hotel air-conditioning system does not allow for this basic facility. One does not need a PhD in physics to understand greenhouse effect can happen during the 'cold' months, as well. In this occasion, the hotel manager, made an exception and open the 'cold' air,, but, in general, the hotel policy is "sorry, in the winter, no air-con".
The room has complimentary fruit plate, but no knife that can actually cut. I asked to be provided with a knife to cut oranges, response was "sorry, we only provide these types of knives".
Overall, a nice hotel with good potential, spoiled by a lack of proper customer service culture. A perfect takeover target for someone with better management skills
