Shipwrecked
leatours
Surfers Paradise, Australia | May 27, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWhilst creating the centrepiece of the recently completed Seaworld shopping and dining precinct, no direct vehicular access is available to the reception, requiring you to carry your luggage about 100m across the paved mall area to reach the Hotel.
Whilst the rooms present satisfactorily to a typical 4 star standard, the bed was rock hard, and being tall, I had to stoop to avoid hitting my head on the low ceiling above the shower/bath, and squat to wash my hair under the shower rose! The acoustic separation between rooms was poor, and this was exacerbated by the steel frame of the ship which readily transmits noise and vibrations through the structure from one end to the other, resulting in a much disrupted sleep.
A small dining area contained within the main lobby offers a very basic buffet breakfast for a charge, and is really the only hot breakfast option available since the only alternatives found within the Seaworld precinct are fast food outlets like MacDonald’s, Starbucks or Chinese coffee shops with very limited breakfast food options.
Lunch and evening dining is much better catered for with a wide range of restaurants in the area offering mostly Asian cuisines. Highly recommended for good quality western food and wine is the “Gold Coast Restaurant and Bar” just around the corner from the Hotel.
One of the main attractions of this Seaworld precinct is the Vegas styled “dancing fountains” water feature that adjoins the ship, however during my recent stay, the nightly performances were shut down for maintenance. -
Not your typical hotel - fun experience in Shenzhen
2muchtimeontheroad
San Francisco, California | May 16, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessRegardless of the fact that the ship is permanently on land this is still a ship. It has pros and cons and it was hard to decide if I should give it a 3 or 4 star rating. It is a novel experience. The room and bathroom were bigger than I expected on a ship. The air conditioning was good. Both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi were very good. The floor is slanted which will drive some people crazy. I had a room with a huge window overlooking the main square. They have regular curtains that give some privacy and curtains that completely block all the light. I was not near the bar or restaurant so I was not affected by the noise that other people complained about but this is a ship so there is typically more background noise than you will hear in a regular hotel. If you book on one of the travel sites make sure that your deal includes breakfast. In terms of location you cannot beat it, it is surround by all kinds of restaurants, bars and shopping. It is also very close to the MRT (subway). Note that the taxi cannot get close to the ship so you will have to walk a little bit to get to it. When you book a room make sure to decide if you want the fountain side or the mountain side. The mountain side overlooks the main plaza. The fountain side is quieter.

Good hotel for a short stay
Furtus
Hong Kong, China | Apr 27, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel is in the middle of Sea World, best location with a lot of restaurants, bars and night clubs. The hotel itself was renovated recently and the rooms are ok. Food in the German restaurant is very good. Staff is average, always helpful and sometimes not good in English...

A different kind of hotel with a great location
PT169
Dallas, Texas, United States | Apr 21, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessBest thing about this hotel is it's location but the room was not bad at all. I thought it was reasonably clean and comfortable. Low ceilings and slanted floor as other reviewers have noted but if you book a room on an old ship you would probably not be surprised by that. The bed is very hard which is pretty typical in China. The location is great in the center of Seaworld with many western dining choices ranging from upscale to fast food, coffee shops and 7-11 within a few yards of the hotel. Don't buy the hotel breakfast. There are a number of much better (and cheaper) choices just outside the hotel entrance. Shekou is my favorite part of Shenzhen so I will stay at the Cruise Inn again for sure.

What an experience I would always remember!

Hong Kong, China | Apr 8, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesSearching for the right hotel within shenzhen I found this cruise inn quite intriguing. We stayed here for 2 nights and it's like being in the open sea but is surrounded by leisure plazas, bars and resto! At first we felt a bit of dizziness going into our room and even inside the bathroom was a bit strange until we finally realised that the floor was not flat leveled! This gives you the real feeling of being in an cruise liner and its really awesome! One thing I really didn't like about the room is its porthole window which is understandable. The room is very quiet indeed and clean! Toiletries are available and the hot water is plentiful! Aircondition is just perfect for the summer heat and a nicely boxed welcome chocolate is classy too! The reception staffs are very polite and helpful though the buffet breakfast isn't that good with the price. The biggest bonus of the cruise is the musical fountain right next to it where crowd gather to witness the show once every night with 3 shows on Saturdays. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's looking for something different with lots of entertainment around! Lastly, don't miss the Resto on the deck before 8pm and be mesmerized by the view and the water show!
