  We love the room design and it's modern and comfortable. The swimming pool and gym room are nice too. It's at a 5 Star Hotel standard.
  For others, I would rate as below:
  Location: 4 (near MTR station)
  Staff friendliness: 3
  Email enquiry response: 0 (I've sent an enquiry on 14Oct for my stay on 17Oct, no reply was received so far, understood if there's urgent matter, we should make a call directly, but at least a response would be appreciated even my stay has passed, reflected during both check-in and check-out)
  Housekeeping quality: 4 (quite good, except some hairs on the bathtub, reflected to the front desk during check-out)
  Concierge: 3 (information provide is ok, but no smile at all)
  No Free wi-fi at room, but you may register as a SPG member and have reservation from their web site, then, you can get the free wi-fi.
  In general, I would rate at 3.5.

  Usually I'm not in Shenzhen for the weekend because it's more of a business town, but I made an exception to stay at the Westin. The rooms are beautiful, although mine did smell quite damp. I was offered to move to a different floor, but couldn't be bothered so I don't know if it's a problem with all of the rooms.
  The first time I laid on the bed I actually thought 'this should be illegal!' - it's incredibly comfortable.
  Gym is great, and they have a 'kit supply' service where you pay $5 and they'll deliver gym kit and shoes to your room. Really great, as it saved me taking smelly gym kit home with me back to the UK. Pretty modern equipment, not a huge amount of stuff but great for a hotel gym. And the changing rooms have a steam, sauna and plunge pool.
  The food at lunch is superb, and I got chatting to the restaurant manager who was a charming Columbian girl - fantastically welcoming and unusual to get this level of service in China.
  I forgot to mention the insane view! I looked out over Windows Of The World which is a slightly eccentric 'world in minature'. It meant I opened my curtains to see a facsimile of the Eiffel Tower when I arrived. And a great view of the fireworks, too!
  It's connected to the swish 'Holiday Plaza' shopping mall which has lots of Western brands like the Apple store, Starbucks and tons of upmarket fashion labels.
  Overall, it's going to be hard to stay anywhere else in Shenzhen when I'm there again.

• What makes Westin Shenzhen the best in industry

  I have stayed at Westin Shenzhen over 140 nights in 2015 so far and will be spending more for the remaining of the year. Of course we all have certain expectation from any Five Star hotel and resorts. Westin exceeds all criteria of being a five star hotel, however, what differentiates Westin from others is the caring attitude of their managements and staffs. As we have heard and know the success of any company comes down to the goodness of their people conducting day to day business.

  My company selected this hotel, but I'll be selecting it more often in the future. The rooms are modern and extremely well maintained, even by Westin standards. There's a mall connected to the hotel, although I didn't explore much. The English speaking staff was appreciated.

  I've stayed here 5 or 6 times now in the last 18 months and I will be staying far more in the future:
  The rooms are a very good size and I've been upgraded a few times which is always very welcome.
  The staff are excellent (especially in the club lounge)
  The food is very good in the "Five Sen5es", "Grange Grill" and also room service, breakfast is decent at "Seasonal Tastes".
  The view over "Window of the World" is not bad!
  The location is near the SZMC (Metro) which is good for getting around. Getting a taxi in the morning can be an issue however so ask early!
  The price is very reasonable.
  Overall = 4.8 (very very good)
