• A cost effective 4 star hotel for 1 week type of Stay

  This hotel is located in the middle of Shenzhen electronics shop center, walking distance to every type of cell phone, computer, tablet, audio, video, TV electronics stores. This hotel is a sister property next to the 5 star Pavilion Hotel. Avg room price is about $100 per night which is more reasonable than the Pavilion at 150-200 per night. Room is clean, bed comfortable, service good, in and out easily, not much hotel dining for Westerners, mostly Chinese business clients and Mid-East business people from Iran, Africa, etc. The best part of hotel is its central location and metro station just outside of hotel which can take you easily and cheaply to everywhere by metro.subway, The metro is a recommended transportation to get around since Shenzhen traffic is horrible, taxi ride around during office rush hour can be 1 60-90 minutes nightmare, This hotel is recommended for small company business people visiting SZ, large companies will pay their people twice as much for about the same room type.

  The Pavilion Century Towers is at the North end of Huaqiang Road, and an easy 2 minute walk to the start of the shopping area. Ideal for business or families, since it is lower cost than its parent hotel, the 5* Pavilion which is about 100m along in the same block. You can use all the facilities of the Pavilion if you want a change of scenery, but the rooms are much cheaper and absolutely fine. The laundry charges are lower too.
  Huaqiang Bei has a main street of indoor electronics markets and clothes shops, with a big clothes market behind the west side and electronic markets and restaurants behind the East side.
  Just in front of the Pavilion is a Metro station and diagonally across the road is another which connects on a different line, so it is easy to reach anywhere in SZ from the Pavilion
  The 1st floor restaurant in the Century Tower is traditional Chinese, and the Focus Restaurant on the ground floor has a Hot Pot Buffet or A La Carte menu.
  It is my preferred choice now, when I stay in SZ because the Hotel is clean, comfortable, reasonably priced with good rooms - and you can get to anywhere, quickly. A test for you is to find the Indian Restaurant tucked away in the back streets of the West Side!

  Nice facilities. Room was well appointed. Nice bathroom products. The only thing a little odd was that the lifts did not go to every floor and the labelling of this, while clear, was odd. There is a laundry service available that is very good. Same day service but not cheap. Overall a very enjoyable stay. :-)

  Game room, fitness center.
  As a resident here, I was allowed into the other Pavilion on the corner, and there is a larger fitness center, yoga studio, indoor pool, and i think ping pong aka table tennis.
  MRT Stop right there (with convenience store) and there's a ton of construction, so I'm guessing there will be a 2nd MRT line that's being added.
  Lots of digital / 3c shopping up and down the street.
  UNIQLO and supermarket is about a 10 minute door to door.
  Bank next door, so easy ATM access.

  Century Tower is a comfortable 4-star tower hotel, next door to its larger partner, the 5-star Pavilion hotel. The Pavilion hotel seemed to be very popular with Chinese tour groups, whereas the Century Tower was a bit quieter. I think some of the floors on the hotel are apartments.
  Both the Pavilion and the Century Tower hotels are conveniently located above the Huaqiang North Road metro station, and at the heart of Shenzhen’s huge Shenzhen Electronics Group (SEG) computer and IT precinct on the northern side of the central Futian district.
  The lobby of the Century tower is open, functional and reasonably attractive in golden marble. The Fusion café restaurant and bar on the ground floor provided a good breakfast in the mornings, with plenty of Asian and western choices.
  The hotel room was excellent value for money. I had purchased a pre-paid “executive” room package including breakfast on a discount hotel booking website, and yet was still given a complimentary upgrade to a one-bedroom suite when I checked in. It was very comfortably outfitted with small lounge and nicely decorated bedroom. The bathroom was particularly spacious and well lit. I liked the fact that the bathroom uses bulk refillable shampoo and shower gel dispensers – which I much prefer to the wasteful practice of supplying small throwaway single-use plastic bottles. I wish more Chinese hotels would encourage environmental sustainability in this way.
  On the second floor of the hotel is the huge Chunmanyuan Chinese restaurant. It appeared to be full during lunch (tours perhaps?) but when I visited it for a Chinese meal one evening it was completely empty. My fuwuyuan (waitress) proceeded to yell my order from the table to another staff member closer to the kitchen, rather than present the order herself. That was certainly a new and unexpected experience.
  Shenzhen is a very spread-out city and it can take a long time in a taxi to get from one side to the other (eg, Luohu border with Hong Kong, to Shekou port), so it is important that if you are visiting for business, you locate yourself as close as possible to your clients. Futian is one of the more central districts though, and most definitely if you are visiting Shenzhen to do any business in computer hardware or software within SEG, then the location of the Century, or Pavilion hotels would be ideal.
  It should also be noted that the Shenzhen Metro is currently building a station and line at SEG, and the construction goes right past the Century Tower hotel. Construction goes 24 hours. I wasn't concerned at all by lights and some construction noises, but if you are considering this hotel you should be aware of the subway construction going on nearby.
