The ritz is located in the heart of the Shenzhen CBD, close to many shopping malls. The staff is excellent, the hotel has a nice breakfast spread, great service standards, and the Italian restaurant is a must try. We had a great stay! Highly recommended!

I stay at this property year after year. The big improvement overall this year is worth mentioning. I ask the front desk if there was new management this year and they said yes. There is a new General Manager and it is evident. I don't know who he is but he has made some wonderful changes and it feels like a Ritz Carlton should this year. Thank you.
The new chef's food(Dieter ) is outstanding! His cheesecake is as good as the best in New York and his mashed potatoes are to die for.
Michal, the executive lounge manager makes the end of a long hard day so enjoyable with great food and well trained people to make you very comfortable. On checking in at the front desk, any problem was handled quickly, professionally and to my complete satisfaction. I just have to say that I left feeling wonderful. THANK YOU RITZ CARLTON!
Best hotel in Shenzhen, one of the best in China

I travel to china a lot for work (2+ months a year) and this is hands down my favorite place to stay. I've probably stayed here at least 25 times and almost every time has been a fantastic experience (I've also stayed at St. Regis / Grand Hyatt, JW marriott and a few others in the area).. I've put in several hundred nights with Marriott properties around the world and this really is one of my favorites of all time.
Great things about this hotel:
1. Top notch club lounge which really good service, and a relaxing place to hang out (not like a converted hotel room some hotels pass off as a lounge). It has great views and great service, meeting rooms if you need them.
2. Hotel is not too big, you don't spend endless minutes waiting for an elevator or ever feel like it's overcrowded inside.
3. Tastefully decorated rooms which are large and have warm finishes. A lot of hotel rooms in china feel cheap and chromey or weirdly decorated. These rooms are nice, big and generally have great views.
4. Fantastic outdoor pool area where you can relax after work, an oasis downtown really and great for the many hot days in Shenzhen. Also a nice lap pool, again not too crowded or overrun.
5. You can run outside if that is your thing to the nearby parks and get in a solid lap , gym is also open 24hrs if you have jet lag
6. Coffee and snack shop next to lobby check in , good for getting a lunch to go or drink
7. Conveniently located near Coco park in Shenzhen were you can go grab food without taking a taxi , also close the border and well located for traveling to other area. Right next to metro stop
8. High touch service (which I don't really need , but a lot of people who stay at luxury hotels appreciate)
Minor critiques
1. Wish western room service menu was better and some more variety
2. Elevator music gets old / short loop playback

Location is great, right next to the exhibition center. There are shopping malls around and subway is just around the corner. The staff were helpful but this hotel is just not unto the ritz standard! Being a gold member, I was offered a corner room with direct views of .....a construction site!
We have two guests but There was ONE umbrella in the room and it was broken. Went to the concierge, asked for another umbrella for brother and wonder if i can change my broken umbrella, only was told that they only give one umbrella to each room and there was no spare umbrella so i had to stick with the broken one.
The bathrobe in my room was worn(and this is a fairly new hotel) I was also disappointed at the amenities and towels they use at the hotel.
oh, room was in a decent size, bathroom is huge and took 1/3 of the room space.
However, I really liked the outdoor swimming pool and sauna area. Upon entering the pool area, there's is an automatic shower you have to go through, which could wet your electronics and clothes. I had around 5 mosquito bites within 10 mins at the pool, being dengue fever is spreading in the region, shouldn't they have installed some mosquito repellent ?
