• Perfect but some problems

  I went there with my family for a vacation. As u may know, China doesn't allow anyone to play Line, Facebook, etc, but at this hotel you can play Line and Facebook. The lobby is very huge and the views from the lobby were amazing.
  The rooms are quite large and the bathrooms are amazingly beautiful. There are two sinks, one big bathtub and one shower room. That night, when I'm going to opened the door lock box, it wouldn't work! So we call the fixer and he came to fix it for us. But the door still can't use so we had to change rooms.
  The new room that we got didn't have two beds separated, so we need an extra bed and that extra bed is very small. So it's not that convenient to sleep at that small bed. So that's the problem we had, about the door lock box. But everything else in the room is fine.
  The next morning, when we went to the breakfast room the views are great. But the sun is shining on some of the tables, so me and my family couldn't sit together, we had to sit separately. So that's the two problems that I had during the staying.

  Our stay was great,the property is very nice with all the details ,amazing lobby overlooking the pools and beach, a lot of comfortable lounges,personnel attentive ,good beverage and food service. The view from our balcony just like our dream,emerald waters and misty islands,same from the pools. I read many comments about delays and overcrowding ,perhaps we chose the right weekend after Chinese Holiday ( Thursday and Friday), I have to say that we were a little bit worried,but it was more than fine perhaps because they have to recover the days off ,working on Sunday. Which is unusual in other parts of the world. Check in : Yes, you have to queue but the guys were so fast doing the papers with good command of English language ,gave us an upgrade to an upper floor room, an early check in and late check out what else we can ask for??? The only think that we do not like is that you have to pay for the wifi in your room unless you do the booking through the Hotel website or you are spg member.

• Great Bathrooms

  We spend two nights in this hotel. Everything is quite new and well maintained. Specially the bathrooms, love the design. As u know , most hotels have separate bath and shower. But in this hotel, Bath and Shower are together, huge space, we took shower together with kids, splashing, play water, had so much fun just being in Bathroom.....
  Breakfast is good, but really crowded, hv to line up for most food.. Overall it is great hotel. But Da Mei Sha itself as a Resort destination still need a lot improvements............I would go back to the hotel, but choose Da mei sha as my holiday destination again,,,, maybe NO.

• Great views and rooms....and thats about it

  Stayed the night to celebrate an anniversary. Some pluses, but a lot of negatives.
  Value: Extremely poor. I get that its the best beach resort in southern China. But comparable SPG hotels in Phuket would be a third of the price. At 350 USD a night I expect a lot. I guess if the room was half the price this review would be a lot different.
  Rooms: Great! Clean and big. Very comfortable. Large balconies all overlooking the ocean. Its nice to hear the waves crashing. Quiet rooms and hotel. A pleasant nights sleep.
  Service: Nothing special. English speaking staff is hard to find. Pretty unacceptable for this kind of hotel. I couldnt order a club sandwich up to my room. Dont wanna nitpick, but no acknowledgement of the special day. Which they knew about. they dont need to but I travel almost exclusively with SPG and they have always done things before.
  Beach was great, really private, You need a room card to go out back. I liked that a lot.
  Food: Poop. Went to the Italian restaurant but it was Chinese Valentines Day. Set menu only for 1100 RMB. Choose between a steak and Grilled Tuna. Steak was a nice cut but my wife is pregnant so asked for it medium well. Came to us covered in blood. We are in China. We know the deal. She ate the outer sides and we went for food outside the hotel. Tuna tasted ok but so dry it was uncomfortable to eat and the orange marinade gave us sores in our mouths hahaha not worth the money at all.
  We wanted to order breakfast in the room and enjoy the views with some pancakes. Calling down to order went well but then they called back and said they didnt have bagels. So I changed. Then they called back and said they didnt have pancakes. Im not sure if they wanted to choose my order for me but screw that. You dont deserve any more of my money. We went out to eat again.
  Overall, not a great stay but nothing went horribly. For that money I could just fly to Phuket for a night AND get a better hotel.

  I traveled with a girl friend to China, She has a business in Shenzhen, I went to that city for the first time, , she wanted to show me the attaractions in that city, we choose the Sheraton Dameisha for accomendation, the hotel is general ok, I mean the service , the room is nice, but the food in the hotel is really under our expetation, don't mention the service, even they don't understand us well, little English-spoken, what can you expect more when you travel abroad?
