  I've stayed at this hotel about 20 nights in the past two months. First let me stay it is a beautiful hotel, with lovely grounds and outdoor pool.
  Staff is excellent with a great level of English, though Rebecca from Spain is missed in the Club lounge. Staff really make an effort to recognize frequent guests' names and as an SPG Platinum the treatment is the best. Breakfast is large and varied in both general restaurant and the Club lounge; in fact the lounge breakfast and attention is exceptional. If you get upgraded to a suite, rejoice: they are HUGE!
  As others have said, the hotel is in a very new development zone and is usually far from full occupancy. It is close to the airport but getting to downtown takes about 20-30 minutes by taxi.
  A word of caution: lately the management has decided to fill occupancy rate by hosting recruitment fairs or corporate weekends. During these times, which sadly are becoming more common, the hotel gets absolutely trashed. I am on an SPG nonsmoking floor and all the rooms on my floor are being used as job interview cells all weekend. The hallway looks like the waiting room of a train station; 30-40 people hanging out, eating, dumping trash on the floor or overflowing bins, and air full of cigarette smoke. This is repeated on at least 5 other SPG floors (why on the frequent traveller floors ????) Not a single member of hotel staff concerned yet the cleaning staff is gamely trying to keep up with the noise and mess.
  In summary, a very decent location in Shenyang but be aware of such large gatherings.

  On an 8 day educational excursion to China my team stayed in the Sheraton Shenyang first. The rooms were excellent. The gym and pool were well taken care of and there was plenty of room. There seemed to be very few people which was fine with us. Worth the stay!

  Nice, new hotel...
  Huge and empty. The hotel was in a desolate area.
  The hotel was very cold. The staff were wearing jackets inside. The lobby and restaurants were freezing.
  Service is lacking. Two nights I ate in the restaurant and was the only table (in the restaurant). Wait staff needs work.
  Also I had to wake up the person at the front desk to open the gym at 5 am, 2 days in a row.
  Needs some work.....

  Nice hotel room, well decorated but all public areas were FREEZING. No heat in lounge areas, breakfast room and public areas. Pool and Gym were excellent. The wine selection was none existant, after three requested bottles not available it appeared that the only wine they had was the most expensive bottles.

  Pros:
  ---Helpful, friendly, professional service from most employees, especially from Rebecca in the lounge
  ---Substantial Friday dinner buffet for ~145rmb; broad variety and good quality - dessert section is substantial
  ---Christmas decorations and music
  ---Beautiful "backyard" garden
  Cons:
  ---Temperature control is still struggling; rooms get too hot in the winter, and fitness center is usually too hot in winter and summer ... too much outdoor pollution to open the windows.
  ---Locker rooms still not 100% complete
  ---Not within walking distance of any central Shenyang businesses/attractions
  ---Breakfast should be included in every room rate
