Standard Budget Hotel
Bobby G
Raleigh, NC | Oct 5, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI was turned away from several other cheaper places before hedging my bet with this one. The front desk was okay. A girl on duty at night, Agatha spoke good English. The rest spoke poor English but enough to fix a problem if needed. I had to put a deposit down to get the room. The room and bathroom were small but not bad. The bed was hard (pretty standard) but overall the room was clean. They give complimentary bottled water but no iron or small wash towels. I had a coffee maker but there were no coffee packets which is kind of weird. The breakfast buffet was srange too. I knew they would not have western dishes but I was not expecting dinner items like fish, kung-pao chicken, rice, noodles. etc. But, being lazy, I didn't want to walk to eat so I indulged to the tune of 22 Yuan a day. Overall it's an okay place to stay. The location is good which I love. Also, there were no hassles or issues during checkout which was good.

Very basic
Andy H
Heswall, United Kingdom | Aug 5, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed here for a total of ten nights when visiting with work.
Rooms - basic but adequate
Cleanliness - same mess spotted on corridor carpet for the whole time I was there, evidence that no vacuuming took place
Lifts - very slow
Breakfast - ok, limited to basic and toast for the 'western' selection, even my Chinese colleague suggested the Chinese selection was poor
In addition, they are having some refurbishment work done. It was very inconvenient to hear drilling and hammering at 6am. The positive for this hotel is the location - very near shops, cafes, restaurants and services. -
Not your average Ibis
Okitoki
Istanbul, Turkey | Mar 16, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI have been to many Ibis hotels around the globe and this hotel is definitely the worst of all Ibis hotels. Nobody speaks English. You have to put in a deposit for almost everything (even if you have paid for them). Breakfast was completely insufficient. Rooms smell of tobacco. Safety precautions inadequate.
I generally like Ibis because there is no fuss. Just a simple hotel to crash in. But this was, although I had no expectations from the facility, one of my worst experiences. I don't think that the Accor Hotels Group knows what's going on at this hotel. -
RUDE MANAGER ON DUTY!
Erik D
Brussels, Belgium | Aug 23, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelStaff feedback of my stay at Ibis Shenyang centre.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights from 19 AUG till 21AUG 2014
The 20AUG at around 20.00hrs i asked the counter staff if there is any chance to check out at 15.00hrs ( the next day ) in stead of noon time. They just offered me till 14.00hrs what is not a big gesture. As the same week i got at Home In ( a similar brand Hotel ) without any problem a check out at 15.00hrs. ( although i´m not a costumer at that hotel chain )
I wanted to talk about with the manager on duty, but he was not staying in the hotel...
So i had to talk with him via phone. I was explaining him if there is no chance to offer me a late check out favour, but he was not willing to talk with me, just bashed the communication to ring off while i was talking...
Such a rude behavior being a so called manager on duty is obviously not acceptable.
I don´t no which criteria duty managers have to fulfill at Ibis Shenyang centre, but there must be more professional staff available, i also noticed that he was not able to communicate in English what for an international hotel is a must.
At least a duty manager should have notice of ( little ) basic English.
2 Story at Ibis Shenyang
At around 21.00hrs the 20AUG14 i had a rather easy question to the guest counter staff as the guest IBIS Hotel PC was out of order i could not find out that information my self.
So i asked them if they could find out the address from the USA consulate in Shenyang and there answer was just NO!
There were no other guest in the waiting line and there were 4 girls at the guest counter on duty, so staff enough this was for sure not the problem.
As this Information was realy important for me, i tried it again after 22.00hrs as from that time there was new staff at the guest counter.
Although the student boy was fully alone on duty ( and even other guests in the waiting line ), he was willing to find out the information i needed without any problem.
3 Story
The check out procedure at 14.00hrs the 21AUG.
There were 2 Ibis student boys busy to prepare me the final bill, but they had obviously trouble to debit the amount from my credit card. The guest counter girl in charge was not really interested to help these guys, although she noticed very well that they got a problem. She was more busy with herself and her beauty in stead of supporting the students. It took 15min, that she finally decided to show them which transaction key they should use to finallise the invoice.
All by all this is the worst experience i ever had in a PRC Hotel.
Being a gold card holder and spending approx 50 nights at Accor hotels i expect a bit more flexibility and support.
I came already in 2009 the first time to Ibis Shenyang Centre and came since then almost every year again for several nights.
Last but not least, in other IBIS hotels, the name of the hotel manager is always mentioned in the lobby.
Not in IBIS Shenyang, I tent to believe why. -
