Reasonable option for business travel
Usman S
Toronto | Oct 8, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessYou may find it a bit away from the airport in an average area but the hotel's shuttle service makes up for it.
The staff is quite helpful and the rooms are decent and well equipped. A good value overall, but it doesn't have much to offer if you are looking for fun or travelling with the family.
Better coordinate your arrival time if you are expecting the hotel to pick and drop you to the Pudong. The drive takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. -
Wish We Could Have Stayed Longer

Draper, Utah | Oct 6, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThis hotel was a great bargain. The quality of the lobby, the halls, and the room were excellent. After sleeping on some rock hard beds for a few nights, the beds in this hotel seemed like heaven---very comfortable. We arrived at the hotel late and left early on their "on time" shuttle for the airport. We did not have time to experience the restaurants. We really wished we could have stayed at this hotel a bit longer to relax and enjoy our room. Yes, this hotel seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but it is an excellent choice if you need an airport hotel.

Luxurious Airport Hotel in the middle of a run down area.
Colin B
London, United Kingdom | Oct 3, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayStayed near the Bund for 4 nights but hotel was full for 5th night and we had an early morning flight departure from Pudong and therefore decided to spend the last night at an airport hotel.
The hotel was situated between Shanghai city and Pudong off the S20 route ,about 30-40 minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from the Pudong airport.
We wanted to take a taxi from our downtown hotel to the airport Hotel as there was no need to go to the airport. We got the receptionist to write the address in Chinese to show the taxi driver. He read it and we set off ,first mistake was our taxi didn't have SatNav.It soon became clear our Taxi Driver didn't know how to get there and every time we stopped at traffic lights he wound the window down and was asking other Taxi drivers, and no one seemed to be able to help .Eventually after a couple of U turns ,he stopped , got out and went to talk to people waiting at a bus stop ,again without success. We decided it was best to head directly to the airport and try to get from there to the Hotel.
Although the hotel offers a free Shuttle to/from the airport it has to be arranged 24 hours in advance and does not run regularly. We headed for the taxi stand and en route were solicited by a character who wanted RMD250 for the 15min trip , obviously thought we just arrive in Shanghai off an aircraft . We went to the INFO desk and the assistant advised. It should be no more than 50 RMD or £5 for the trip.At the taxi stand the controller allocated us to a cab and the driver was not happy when we showed him the address, he got out of the cab and had a heated discussion with the controller and he was in a strop for the 15 min journey.
The hotel was very luxurious ,in large grounds with ornamental fountains , 3 Chinese style restaurants and a western style coffee shop and its own nightclub. The lobby is huge cavernous with a plush lounge Bar at one end a Coffee shop at the other and a fantastic staircase to the upper level where a noisy wedding party was taking place.
The room was very high tech with electrically controlled curtains ,all sorts of light controls, the bathroom had a huge circular bath as well as a large walkin shower .
The wall between bathroom was opaque glass and at the flick of a switch it became clear so you could lie on the bed and watch your room mate bathe if that is your thing.
WIfi was free but as with everywhere else we visited in China it was very inconsistent , sometimes fast , sometimes just no response.
We had a walk outside the grounds of the hotel and it was completely different to the tourist areas in Shanghai City like the Bund. Bicycle repair shops , barber shops ,fruit vegetable shops ,Sewing shops , Laundry shops , butcher shops with dozens of pigs heads hanging up and a few working men cafes. The locals just completely ignored us ,no attempt to communicate ,get you to buy anything . So basically nowhere to eat or drink outside the hotel.
Given the hotel is the only place to eat / drink it was expensive. I think the point is that although the room rates in these 5 star hotels are very reasonable ,food and drink is very expensive by Chinese standards,
We had a G & T before dinner in the Lobby Lounge and they cost nearly £11 each ,which is about 3 times what we had been paying downtown.Needless to say we were the only people in the place and the plush atmosphere was spoiled by the noise from the Wedding party upstairs which reminded me of the sounds in a public swimming baths because of the echo.
We had a light meal in the Coffee shop , which again was more expensive than we had paid in town.Probably better to book a less luxurious hotel where food and drink will be priced in line.
We booked the Shuttle bus back in the morning ,I think it runs no more than hourly so it earlier than we would have chosen 0600. On a positive note it left on schedule.
Less positively the mini bus had no baggage car and the 12 or so passengers had a lot of baggage which was piled in the front rows of seats and in the isles.
The journey was just over 15 mins . -
Being honest in room description would be better

Shanghai | Sep 23, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelThis is a great hotel where I stayed overnight for an airport transit. The hotel looks great and my room was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and comprehensive. I enjoyed the free shuttle service to the airport (expect 20 mn). The front desk service was fast and effective. Unfortunatly, I had this regrettable impression of being cheated when I discovered that there was a wall in front of my window and no daylight: it was not easy to figure out at night. It would have been more honest to say that it clearly up-front, including on the Ctrip reservation web site to avoid this. A room with no window is not the same, you chose it or not - I personaly NEVER book this type of room, but the impression of being fooled after arriving late at night in the hotel leaves a very bad feeling.

Excellent hotel in a less excellent neighbourhood

Helsinki | Sep 14, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWe chose this hotel in order to better survive the early morning departure. It is not exactly an airport hotel, because it takes 15-20 minutes to reach the airport by taxi. There is also a shuttle service, but it runs only once per hour. As we arrived already in the afternoon, we chose to visit the Bund in the evening which seemed to be quite easy to do thanks to the direct connection by Line 2 metro. It should be noted that the subway station is really not next door and requires at least 15 minutes walk through a not so nice area that would definitely be an appealing choice after dark. The line 2 is also split in two sections, and it is necessary to change trains after a few stations, which was nicely pointed out to us by a young fellow traveller.
The room is extremely comfortable and well equiped - e.g. you can watch TV from the bathtub. The breakfast was plentiful and available already starting at 6:00 a.m.
This was overall a very good hotel experience and can definitely be recommended if there is a need to reach the airport early in the morning. For a longer term visit of Shanghai, a hotel with a nicer location would be more recommendable.
