Hidden delight

kuala lumpur | Aug 12, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawaySmall, clean and quiet. Away from any main road and no traffic noise. Clean and comfortable. Basic toiletries, so bring your own if you use fancy stuff, no tea or coffee in the room. There is a electric kettle. Breakfast is very simple. The courtyard has these huge trees that are lovely and give a quaint look to the place. Easily accessible to the main Huaihai Road. 1 block away from H&M, 15 minutes walk to XiDianTi. Reasonably priced n worth going back again.

Great location, but that creepy alley entrance
Ronald B
Beijing, China | Feb 3, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessSpent 3 nights here for business and was creeped out at night with the alley entrance when checking inbbut was pleasantly surprised by the the spacious rooms in the deluxe suite. Great central location but the breakfast was under my expectations, better to grab something at Wagas down the street

Superb Location

CAIRNS, Australia | Nov 27, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesGreat accommodation located slightly off the street at Middle Huaihai Road (less traffic noise). We were upgraded to a very spacious suite after the room we booked on non-smoking floor was reeking of cigarettes! Staff were very courteous & prompt in addressing our concerns.
The room is furnished in very charming Chinese style and has a PC with internet access. Nice bathroom with good amenities and the bed was very comfortable (we are gweilos who like hard mattresses!). The kitchen alcove was a nice touch with a sink, fridge, kettle and coffee maker, but it didn't have any microwave, plates or cutlery.
Internet access is via ethernet plug in the wall, we bought our own compact wifi router so we could access internet with our iPad. Internet access was provided to us free of charge as there was a problem with their Internet access billing system.
The location is excellent, loads of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Metro stop South Huangpi Road is about 2 blocks away and this is only one stop from People's Square. Also very convenient to the French Concession which is a great area to explore on foot.
Would definitely stay the Royal Court again. -
Dirty Hotel!
LV2TRVL1
London | Oct 11, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI recently stayed three nights at this hotel and I have to say it's FILTHY! I booked this hotel based on the reviews on TP and Bookings.Com. I am not sure how his hotel manages to get a 76% approval rating. Location is good as its central to most key sites and shopping. That's about the only positive thing this hotel has going. My room along with the furniture and TV were really old, something from the early 1970s. My bathroom was small to the point where I could not close the door. The overall appearance is bad but more importantly I can confirm that the staff don't properly clean the rooms. I won't go into details but it was disgusting! I've stayed at hostels that are more cleaner than this hotel. Stay here if you don't care about your environment as for me this was a BIG mistake!

Dirty rooms
Vivian2509
Hockenheim, Germany | Sep 14, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWe stayed 3 nights here and the room was not even worth 3 stars. Bathroom was so disgisting, it has not been cleaned up as we checked-in. Hairs everywhere, bugs in the room... Why do chinese people include only one breakfast, if the hotel is booked for two persons?! I don't get that. Never again.
