  But otherwise nothing in particular to recommend it. The hotel is a perfectly adequate Chinese business hotel: the staff are helpful and the conference facilities are attached to the hotel. By international standards, this is a middle of the road 2 to 3-star hotel. But like all business hotels, you don't stay for the atmosphere. My room was clean and decently furnished - the bed was, well, let's just say, not soft. Internet connection was fine, if a bit slow: if you are having problems connecting you can get a router for your room to boost the signal.
  The hotel is well out from the centre, with only a few local restaurants and fast food places nearby, but it's only a 5 minute walk to the metro which will take you to people's square in about 20 minutes. The metro is very easy to navigate, but be warned: you'll need small bills or coins for the metro ticket machines.

  Located close to the Exhibition Centre this is a convenient business hotel in case you are attending an exhibition. Serves you decent complimentary breakfast and is located in an area where you have plenty of taxis and metro station is also not very farThe major negative is non availability of free wifi.

  We were in this hotel with my orchestra (almost 100 people).
  - Some of my colleagues got cockroachs and other insects in their rooms
  - My room was smelling very badly of insecticide and i even got my throat irritated because of that
  - i had to change my room to another one which was also stinking very badly
  - the rooms are small, not even the basic forniture was there
  - the rooms have carpets on the floor, which is very dirty and smelly. If you have any kind of dust allergy you will die.
  - the card opener of my room was 10 times broken, and even the door of my room had to be repaired once
  - very unfriendly personal :I've asked once to call a taxi for me, and they said i should have stopped a taxi on the street myself.
  - to find a English speaking person in the reception, is like finding GOLD
  Basically never ever again!

• You can do better than this one

  My room was arranged as part of a conference package. Nice atmosphere. Service overall was reasonable. Conference facilities OK. BUT, windows were filthy. My two attempts at getting room service failed; first time on hold for 10 min; second time no one spoke English. hotel restaurant the worst Chinese food I ever had. the "coffee shop" (hotel bar) was a bit better but limited options. the bed was simply a thin mattress on a board. two free bottles of water a day. they are trying but have a long way to go,. Oh, and nothing worth seeing in walking distance, but it was near a metro.

• 4-star look with a 2-star feel

  I am usually quite generous in my reviews, but this time I won't be like that. The building looks quite impressive from the outside and the entrance and lobby look like a 4-star hotel (and so do the prices). But the wifi in the conference rooms did not work, guests are smoking everywhere in the hotel, the staff is not service-minded and their English is mostly very poor. The room needs a refurbishment, smelled of cigarette smoke, had stains on the carpet and a shower curtain that had turned yellow at the bottom. CNN broadcast was unstable and the water in the shower did not flow away quick enough, so at the end of a shower I was standing ankle-deep in a puddle. Some of the towels smelled of food and there was no yoghurt at breakfast. Finally, when checking out, they tried to charge me around 15% more for my stay than was confirmed during my online booking. My advice to the management: fire all reception staff, update your rooms/facilities and lower your prices.
