  As South Africans, we were greatly accommodated in the hotel. The front desk staff spoke English ( Not fluently but enough to get all the typical hotel lingo completed.) When you arrive be prepared to pay a deposit. We were 6 people and paid a 900 Yuan deposit. The rooms were big and spacious. The beds were three quarters and super comfy. The TV was connected to the Wi-Fi, which with a bit of fiddling, you can watch movies, series and other content. The couch was comfy, the bathrooms were modern and came with all the necessities.The weird thing was that its self-catering but came with no kitchen utensils only a kettle and a microwave. The breakfast's was really great! We stayed at the hotel for 6 days and they constantly switched up the menu's. Since we were located in K-Town were got Kimchi as a side dish everyday. The food included rice and other variations of rice, dumplings, wontons, toast, banana bread, soup, rice porridge, various type of vegetables, melons and various beverages. The cleaning , security, and food staff were extremely friendly. A Family is located in the hotel and serves various foods, beverages and other goods such as hygiene and electronics. Be careful you might spend a lot of money there ;). The Hotel being in Korea Town provided ample Korean restaurants that mainly Korean BBQ. The hotel is situated 5 min away from 'The Mix C' mall and the 'Agean Place' mall. The subway is located within the mall at the bottom floor which is perfect to access for transportation. Across the hotel is a mall that has a pharmacy, a Watsons, various coffee shops and bakeries, an Indiana restaurant and a Kmart. The only one downside is that the restaurants next to the hotel can be open till the early hours of the morning which could distract some people. I never found it an issue. Overall the hotel was great and I'll definitely come back next time I visit Shanghai.

• Really nice and comfortable

  Spent four nights here. Eastern Garden Apartments is located in KoreaTown so if you like Korean food, you are in a good spot.
  
  Overall I felt the room was comfortable and clean. There is a FamilyMart on the first floor which is convenient. It was quiet and clean. Well worth a stay.

• Good but expensive overnight rest stop before early flight

  The condition of the room and facilities was not great, especially considering the amount we paid. Everything looked tired and marked or slightly peeling tables and wall paint but the location was ten minutes or less from Hongchiao airport so very convenient for an early morning flight. Only about 20 RMB or so in a taxi. Breakfast was also included if you have time and the front desk is open 24 hours although the bell hop was sleeping on the sofa when we arrived.
