Adequate Biz hotel in Pudong
Wil23low
Singapore, Singapore | Sep 30, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessRegal Jinfeng is a very average and adequate business hotel in Pudong Industrial area. For biz travelers who are in Pudong for visit in the factory/industrial area, the location is pretty good. However, if you are looking for a hotel with good proximity to the Bund, the hotel is too far away by cab or any close by subway station.
As I'm fluent in Mandarin, I did not face much problem with the communication. However, it does prove to be more challenging for many of my colleagues who are non-Mandarin speakers when communicating with the staff in the hotel.
Room and breakfast were pretty average and adequate. There was nothing much to shout for. For the buffet breakfast, since the hotel also catered to group tourists, there were times when the restaurant was so packed that I need to share a table with total stranger which I'm not so fond of.
A particularly bizarre incident happened on the first day of my stay. In the middle of the day, electricity went off for approximately 30-45 mins. The hotel management did try to reassure that they were trying their best to salvage the situation but the reason remained unclear. However, later for my stays of 8 nights, none of such incident reoccured anymore which was a relief.
I had some email communication with the hotel staff and they were very helpful. So kudos on that level!
Is it a great hotel? No. But it is an adequate and average biz hotel that will satisfy your average biz traveler who are there for visit to the industrial area. -
Nice hotel, horrible location
SergR5
San Jose, California | Jul 25, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessMy friend was sent to Shanghai for 2 weeks for business and invited me along. His company put him up at the Regal Jeng Feng as it was close to his workplace.
It's a nice 3 star hotel in growing business/residential area called New Pudong. We had a room with 2 twin beds. Room was clean and well equipped. The beds were about a foot away from each other and we both snore, so we kept waking each other up. Ha ha. Turning on the "do not disturb" sign brought s knock at 9am from
Housekeeping. Management needs to explain what "do not disturb" means.
The included breakfast was plentiful but did not change day to day so it good too repetitive.
Hotel staff were friendly but only one person on duty at any one time would know English. Many times it was very bad English. Not acceptable at a business hotel.
If you are here as a tourist, this has to be one of the worst locations. Everything we went to do or see was mainly on the Puxi side. A 45-60 minute cab ride away. Mind you it was only 10 miles away, but the traffic always turned it into a long trip.
Overall I would recommend this hotel for business people with work related issue nearby. Otherwise, cough up some extra Doug and stay closer to where all the fun stuff is. -
Good hotel in Shanghai

Rishon Lezion, Israel | Jul 12, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThe room is comfortable and with sufficient electricity wall conections and active free WiFi. The internal room instructions are in English as well. There is an iron in the room. No control over airconditioning. There are tissues but no string to dry wet clothes. The breakfast hall serves cheese kinds and vegetables as well.

Business Trip To Shanghai
Prakkash S
Mumbai (Bombay), India | Jul 5, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStrictly a business hotel located in the Pudong Industrial area. The service is very average. The breakfast was almost finished by 8:30 am and nobody willing to refill. This hotel is catering to big groups and that may be the reason for indifference in service,

Fine hotel not near transit or sightseeing.

Rochester, NY | May 22, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThis fairly new hotel was comfortable with an extensive breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor (vs fewer breakfast offerings on the 1st floor). The fitness room had all sorts of equipment but we did not use it. The downside was that you need a cab to get to the Metro. We had difficulty finding a cab who would take us to the touristy area in Pudong during rush hour because it was "too far". A cab took us on a 20 minute ride to metro line 10 that goes to the Bund area for about 40RMB. Hotel is very convenient to the Shanghai Pudong airport.
