Good, well-priced, quiet hotel in residential area

Beijing, China | Jun 30, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelThe City View is difficult to find, and that's a good thing. They also don't speak much English, and that's even better. The hotel is a bit run down, the windows don't open sufficiently for one to stick one's head out, and I always have problems connecting to the Wifi, but other than that, I strongly recommend this hotel. The metro and Shanxi Nan Road (with its old colonial buildings and so on in the area and its surrounds) are a couple of minutes walk away, with Huaihai road 20 mins walk up Shanxi Nan road, so you're in a good area...albeit a fairly long way from the tourist centres of Shanghai.
This is my hotel of choice in Shanghai. -
Surprisingly Good !

Bengaluru (Bangalore), India | May 14, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed in this hotel for about 4 days , and the location of hotel is very good , very quite and they have tried to make this hotel feel and look like european style hotel. Many shopping malls , restaurants are near by , hardly 10 minutes by walk to KFC,Mc Donalds, Pizza hut. Subway/metro is very nearby (Line 9) , using which most of the places in shanghai can be reached. The nearest supermarket is TESCO , hardly 5 mins by walk. Location wise nothing to complain about. Getting taxi or bus easier to get in this area. The breakfast , they have mix of western and chinese breakfast buffet , depends on individual taste.Rooms are neat and clean , with very comfortable beds , Internet TV , Wi-Fi and LAN , more or less , upto the mark compared to normal amenities of other hotels. In staff atleast 1 member was able to speak english at all times , and professional behavior to any specific requirements. Overall good deal , as a tourist most of the time will be outside the hotel , so if you are looking for a comfortable bed to relax after a long day , this is surely one of the good options. Sometimes smell of cigarette smoke in corridor, but not very strong. No cigarette smell atleast inside the room for sure. Staff was helpful.Enjoy the vacation !

Kolding | Oct 17, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayTwo friends and I booked two rooms for six nights. We didn't expect much, and we didn't get much.
+ cheap - very cheap (~ $600) for two rooms - six nights.
+ good and quiet location just a few minutes away from metro line 9 station Jiashan Rd
+ the room had air condition and flat screen tv
+ the room had a mini bar but
÷ the mini bar was empty (luckily we knew how to fill it with beers)
÷ the english-speaking receptionist didn't understand the word minibar or píjiu - the mandarin word for beer
÷ I saw a vacuum cleaner, but I think it was broken...
÷ the soap dispenser in the shower was gone from day 2 and forward
÷ typical chinese breakfast, but they did have toast and: Danish Butter (I'm from Denmark)!
But afterall; it was cheap and we only stayed in our rooms in the night.
Will I recommend it? If price matters, then yes. -
Quiet and relatively central.

Gold Coast City | Jun 13, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelThis is the second time I have stayed at this hotel; on each occasion it has been comfortable and quiet, The hotel is relatively central close to two metro stations on line 9. Travellng on Maglev then the metro into the city it only took me an hour from Pudong Airport to be checking in at the hotel.
There is generally at least one English speaking member of staff on duty either at reception or close by. All the staff are friendly, pleasant and eager to assist (which is a positive trait generally not readily found in Shanghai).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: While Jiashan Road Metro station is slightly closer to the hotel, Dapuqiao Station, only five minutes walk from the hotel door, is under a large shopping centre where there are quite a variety of food outlets, while in another shopping centre across the busy intersection there is a Pizza Hut Restaurant and an Italian style restaurant along with other food outlets.
Right next door to the hotel there is a Tesco Supermarket. -

Nov 3, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelThe staff was rude, almost no one spoke English.
The room was dirty and there were flies.
The only bright side was the hotel centeral location.
Breakfast selection was poor
