  There are a few JW Marriott and Courtyards in Shanghai, I found this one with great value. It is adjacent to the well known Changfeng Park, most rooms have nice park views both day and night.
  There is a shopping mall just across the street, providing a lot of dinning options. I even tried McDonald's delivery at mid night after the mall closed.
  Room amenities are ample and in great conditions, restroom is spacious, with bath tub overlooking the park while having excellent privacy.
  Transportation can be a bit tricky. The hotel location is in fact very close to Zhong Shan area, one of Shanghai's business district, you won't have any problem getting in and out by car. However, the hotel is not close to any subway station, or public transport hub.
  Underground parking is fee for room guest, everything else is Marriott standard.

  Very good hotel if you're in the city for business. Stayed @ 32nd floor with view to the park; lovely view, esp by night. Room is modern, comfortable & very clean. All amenities are available for a great rest. If you're in city for tourism, I wouldn't advise it, it's far from everything even from metro. The cafe offers good quality food with a good variety. One negative are the stale croissants & pastries for breakfast. JW Marriott is better than not to bake fresh every morning. It's these small touches that the Marriott brand should be a bit more careful with, I noticed a drop in the Marriott flagship in general. Having said that, I'll stay there again for business, & hopefully the croissants will be freshly baked!

  I stayed here for a week for a conference. The room was great - clean, comfortable bed, great AC, well appointed bathroom, nice and quiet, plenty of room to work and spread out. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed the spa, pool, gym & sauna - very well kept and maintained and good size. The hotel is very close to the exhibition hall, and a half hour into downtown Shanghai for the evening. I'd stay here again without question.

  This is a great hotel overall for business travelers. It is probably the best value for the money in Shanghai. I have stayed at this property many times and the quality has been solid all these years. The rooms are large and everything in the room is top quality. It is one of these rare places where it is not necessarily showy from the outside, but it has substance inside. The bath room is top notch. If you have time, soak in the tub that has one of the best views in the city. See photo. The service is also pretty consistent. After the property was renamed a JW Marriott, they upgraded the breakfast areas as well as the club lounge. It looks more modern and airy with a muted grey tone that exudes luxury throughout. All in all, I don't see how anyone would be disappointed with this property. The reason that I took a star off is for what you see in the attached photo. At breakfast during my most recent stay, a mosquito landed squarely on my juice cup. For a 5 star property, this really should not have happened. Also, once in a while, I would get a nonsmoking room with a strong smoke smell. But that was more a reflection of the poor behavior of the guest who previously occupied the room. In China, a smoke free environment is very difficult to maintain.

  Great services, nice breakfast buffet with variable choices. Good room facilities. Staffs at reception area are polite but not so friendly. Janitors don't speak English, just keep speaking Chinese and then body language.
