OK hotel, good location
David S
Jakarta, Indonesia | Oct 2, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessOK hotel, good location. Receptionist can speak English. Standard IBIS room, no complain, quite clean and acceptable. 20 minutes walking distance to crowded area. Many small restaurants around the hotel.

369 for a room with no windows:(

Changzhou, China | Jul 31, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI like the location but for a room with no windows it's a rip off. I've stayed here many times and had an ok room for the same price but this time they told me I need to pay 469 to get a room with windows. I won't be going back.

Nice location - good price
DorteFrigast
Copenhagen, Denmark | Jun 23, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyWe liked the location in the former French Concession area. Lots of small shops and restaurants. Easy access (10-15 min. walk) to two subway stations. Breakfast however was not to our European taste. Had breakfast in a nearby cafe instead.

it's ok, but just ok
bartkarski
London, United Kingdom | Jun 22, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed there on a 2 week business trip in June 2014.
The rooms are ok, larger than in Hong Kong.
The bathroom is strange, a plastic cabin, with everything pre-installed inside, and then put in the corner of the room, but it does the job.
No window views to speak of.
There is a small breakfast buffet, the procedure is funny, communist style, you buy a breakfast voucher at the reception, then you go over a few feet into the breakfast room, where you redeem the voucher and get your food. The person selling you the voucher and the person taking it from you in the breakfast room is often the same... ;-). the breakfast is a small selection of snacks, including hard-boiiled eggs and small sausages, as well as steamed chinese buns with meat, or veg, some cereals and coffee/tea. If you are planning a big lunch around noon, this will tie you over, but if you are a person who eats a big breakfast and goes on till 3pm or so without food, you may need to seek alternatives.
The rooms are clean, and cleaned daily, make sure you follow the instructions, and leave your towels on the floor if you want them changed, otherwise they will be dried and hung in the way that would make you think they are fresh. Same goes for bed linen, if you don't leave the tag on the bed, the crew will make the bed up, but will not change the sheets, it's up to you, how often you want it done, we stayed for 2 weeks with 2 changes.
The air-conditioning in the rooms is equipped with smart electronic controls, and you can set it to the temp you want and enjoy, which is not always the case in budget places, so a plus.
The wifi is good, not great, but good enough, you get wifi in the lobby and the rooms, also ethernet cable is in the room for a direct connection, you can ask for a router for your room, they will plug it into the outlet and connect the ethernet cable, and you have good wifi in the room. Just ask, they do it all the time. There are many websites that are blocked in china, i recommend using ExpressVPN, it works well, on all devices. Word of advice, you can access the Express VPN site on your computer, and Apple devices, but you cannot download the required app on your android devices, google play store being one of the blocked sites, so download ExpressVPN app onto your android before entering china, you can then set up the account on-line while already in china and enter all the info into your phones app, and if you decide not to use it then it doesn't cost a penny to have the app, but if you need it, and don't have it, there is no way around it on android, for us simple folk anyway ;-).
The hotel is a short walk away from the Metro stop of line 10 and 11. You are then connected to the rest of Shanghai, so not bad. Also there are taxis everywhere, and the hotel Metro stop is a cheap ride costing 18RMB.
There are restaurants all around the Hotel, all local, good seafood, good noodles. If you Want some western food, there are a few choices, but a short walk away. Turn left out the front door, straight for 2 blocks, you will come go past the cinema complex on your left, after that there will be Crowne Plaza Hotel on your left again, restaurants inside, or Wagas across the street with great salads, pastas, sandwiches and all that kind of stuff. After Crowne Plaza turn right and first left, for a great expat bar, The Tipsy Fiddler, home made stews and such, also great atmosphere with good live music every night, but in a good cameral setting of a guitar and voice. Happy hour till 8pm everyday. I think that the bar is here on TA but under Thirsty Fiddler, well they might have been tipsy ;-).
The trip from Pu dong airport costs around 250RMB. Take metered taxis, otherwise you will be taken for a ride, like we were... you live you learn. -
no breakfast

Hong Kong, China | Mar 11, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel generally is okay as I used to stay in IBIS in different countries. but those in china is the worst in terms of te tidiness. i saw a sign saying that there is late breakfast that they offer drink and bread till 12noon . when i asked they said they have coffee only. .. a bit disappointed
