  I have stayed here five times this year during my trips to Shanghai. I just cannot see paying prices at the 5 star hotels even though my company pays the cost. I rated it a four star based on value, not necessarily like a four star hotel. You are close, twenty minutes to good shopping areas and subway. Your best bet for booking is to use elong.com as they seem to get a better price than direct to the hotel. I paid 350RMB for single room but friend paid 288RMB for same single room. For 500RMB you can get a larger room, which is needed if more than one person is staying. Breakfast is 25RMB but so so. The restaurant has good food for dinner but I find the little places down the street have much better food at local prices. Overall, you can sleep in well and save your money for shopping. I intend to stay again on my next visit to Shanghai.

  The pictures on the Changhang website are from it's heyday many years ago. There is no furniture in the lobby. It's best feature is the coffee shop which has good coffee, tea, desserts and wifi. My room was cramped with box-springs only but no mattress. It was supposed to be non-smoking but smoke smell was strong. The carpet was old. The closet was very small. There were staff &/or guests loudly playing mahjong and smoking in a room near the elevator.

  This is a small and old hotel, I stay on 10/31/2013,book a 258 rmb room ,when arrived, they said room charge 258 rmb no none smoking room, I have to pay 318 rmb for a none smoking room, OK ,so I paid the 318.rmb rate. when check in the room ,their were some smell like old carpet , TV not working , call the room service they came and fix it, but can't turn off before I go to bed,:(.they charge everything in room even a pack of instance coffee, front deck service unfriendly, I will never stayed here again,

  This hotel was brutal. The rooms were old and dirty. Walls were cracking and had mold on certain corners in the room. Rooms were super small and is not even close to what is shown on their websites. Bed was hard and was only a box spring with no mattress. Bed sheets were never changed as it had stains all over. The windows in the room are like paper thin and we herd every honk possible in the area. Location was fair as it was close to metro station but the noise was horrible. The service was not very helpful in any way and tried to rip off with exchange rates. Internet connection was slower than a dial up. There is no fitness center or massage spa as stated and shown but instead a 3rd floor brothel full of older people from 30 and up! I would never stay at this hotel again as it is worst than a bad motel.

  The description of this hotel is unbelievably FALSE. Except for its location, it has no other redeeming qualities. I stayed here 10 yrs ago for business and nothing has been changed or updated. The rooms are filthy, noisy, sheets adn towels are never changed, floors barely vacuumed. The 3rd floor "fitness center" is actually a brothel and we were told to go away when we were looking for the gym. It's a complete DIVE and I will never stay here again.
