I'll start with the important bit: book a Club room if you will be here for more than two nights. The perks are well worth the cost and the staff in the Club lounge are wonderful. They make a point of remembering guests' names, sort problems and generally make sure that your stay goes smoothly.
Apart from that, this is an excellent hotel in a good location. There are shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. The Metro is a short walk. It's adjacent to the Free Trade Zone - a major business destination. And the staff are first class - friendly and helpful without being obsequious.
Only negative is that it's a long way to see the Bund and riverfront so not a great choice for a tourist trip.

I have stayed here twice over the past couple of months and have had a pleasant and very comfortable stay on both occasions. I enjoyed using the Club Lounge in the evening where there are a excellent selection of complimentary cold and hot snacks as well as drinks and the staff there were very friendly and attentive. There is a shuttle bus that runs from the hotel to the city which is helpful. There is also a metro station, which is a short walk from the hotel, that takes you into the city as well.
If I was being really picky then the only shortcoming I could find would be some of the staff in the restaurant whilst having breakfast. I noticed that one of the Chefs who was on hand to make eggs as requested, was eating his own breakfast in between cooking, which didn't really bother me but it did look a little unprofessional. Some staff were very friendly and helpful and some on the other hand were at the other end of the spectrum. We can all have bad days I guess.
If you order room service during the night then you get put through to an answer machine which is rare. If you perhaps don't want to wait like I did, then consider going down to reception. I went down to see them instead of waiting and my order was processed straight away by the reception staff.

Very Nice property. I had a room on the 25th floor and could see over the water. The room was huge and well appointed. The employees were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. If you can't find something there that suits you, you aren't hungry. There are many choices across the street for dinner. For those that miss home, there is a KFC down the street and a McD's in the works.

This is a really nice hotel with a great breakfast and a lobby bar that stays open till early in the morning with a live band. However the location is to far out from the city centre (The Bund & Nanjing Road) It is nearly impossible to get a taxi back to the hotel from the city centre at night.

Travelling as an international group is not easy.
First you need Passports and Visas then you get your room key - this takes time - but we were not inconvenienced too much and were soon in our room which was excellent.
There are plenty of Restaurants around the Hotel and a delightful little shop next door called Touch Bread
